A little frustrated... on the Return Home to Vana'diel Promo.

If your account has been inactive and your character has been deleted after 90 days, then you will not regain your character on April 14th if you so choose.

The first wave is for people who killed just their playonline account.... You will only be able to regain a character back in the second wave in June.

Now I am stuck with not bothering at all or starting all over again. I was only lvl 23/11 but it still stinks.

hmm my old char was 70rdm and yada yada as you can see in my signature ^^ And I seriously doubt I can revive him because
1 - I never cancel my POL
2 - it's a japanese account

Well the point of it only seems to be recovering a POL account if you deleted it unwittingly, not so much saving characters. Personally I think it was a good thing they did this, though it's obviously a bit misleading..

Didn't they also say there was a 2nd phase to this? Where you can retrieve your character also? But I heard that you couldn't access your character until June.

Exactly! and that is not going to happen until sometime in June. They are only going to reactivate cancelled Playonline accounts in April...

dang, this sucks, I didn't know that. and I was looking forward to coming back in two weeks ><

I called SE, and tehy said my account and character were available, and that I could get both back (in april, I assumed). I'll have to check this out some more.

JUST got off the phone with POL rep, he said phase 1 (april) is for people who's POL accoutns have been cancelled/deleted; YOU GET BOTH ACCOUNT AND CHARACTERS BACK.

Phase 2 is for people who STILL HAVE THIER POL ACCOUNT, BUT WANT OTHER CHARACTERS THEY'VE DELETED OFF OF THAT SAME ACCOUNT BACK.

just FYI, level 23 is like 10% of the xp required to get to 75. you can get back to level 23 in 2-3 days if you have a friend in the game to bootstrap you with a little money, and you know where to go. don't stress over a level 23 character :)

i cant find the peice of paper it was on and i had a lv45 smn I want back.

Call SE to make sure, but I didn't have my POL id first time i called, I gave them my name and stuff and he looked up my account.

I found my book (and therefore my POL ID) the 2nd time I called.

pretty sure you can get your POL ID from them if you have your other info.

you mean the 12-digit key thing right? i know my pol id and password, just not the pol key and ffxi key.

hmmm, not sure, I'd imagine you'll need that. Although, it says in the very first paragraph "...we're issuing these players registration codes free of charge to allow them to come back to PlayOnline, play FINAL FANTASY XI, and even recover and play their old characters from before!".

So, I dunno for sure. I'd imagine if you can provide otehr info proving you had a POL ID and content ID (i.e. name and address, payment info, etc), it wouldn't be a problem.
