play without chains of pronathia?

i have a question: i have final fantasy XI and rise of the zilard. i haven't instaled them yet. but my question is can i play them if i haven;t got chains of promathia? i dont think i'll buy that expansioin pack very soon( short on funds) and i really want to play ffxi. so can anyone give me an answer?

yes, you can play just fine (I do). some areas you won't be able to get into, but they are not terribly popular places to xp anyway.

from 1 to 55 I haven't once get to play anything new that comes with promerthia ^^;

Well some of the New CoP areas are pretty good for EXP'ing. Just they are not really popular yet because to many players sticking to an old method that just gives them a headache. Ironically wishing for an area were they can EXP better and yet won't try one bit to find it.

You can play the game though without CoP. You can't do the Promethia quests or enter the Promethia zones. As far as I've seen the ENMs that can help you level are also in the promethia zones so unfortunatly won't have that option to level faster.

Some of the ENMs like the 30s ones if you are right at 30 or under just doing 1 of them will basically level you up. The nice part is players of higher level don't seem to really impact the EXP either.

If anyone's going to get PL'd those seem like the best to me, because it'll still require the players to learn the game.

I think around lvl 60 promethia is more liked over Labyrinth of Onzozo

my ls mate was asking me what zones can he lvl in from the cop areas. i know from past exp, orzozo is horrid for tanks.

onzozo is great if your healer keeps on top of silena/paralyna.

cats don't have big attacks, no annoying debuff, no annoying buff, they just run fast and hit moderately hard.

great for nin tanks... if your healer is competent. :biggrin: :biggrin:

went to Onzozo with level 59-60 PT. They wanted to go sky but I can't ... ; ; I felt so bad

Torama dodges like mad.... they are not hard but rather, annoying... at least 1 of the mages will have to be main silena/prana to make things easier.
