Egg events. Anyone doing it?

Getting a bit headache gathering eggs LOL the A is so rare and ppl are selling it at 200k+

Anyway after I manage to get my first 3 of my name JAZ, I tried to gather straight 8 and by the time I trade it, the moogle asks for first 3 again o_O

how does it really work..?

I haven't done anything with it this year, but...

I've used the Fortune Egg (MP+1%, VIT+1) since last year in my throwing slot. Only thing comparable is Holy Ampula, but that costs more.

Easy way to get an A egg if you're hard-up for one ... party with someone whose name begins with A, and then get your initial egg while partied with them. Check your friends and your friends' mules for A-name characters, and failing that see if anyone has any free content ID slots to *create* an A-name mule. :P

Same applies to any other letter, of course. And the original moogle will, yes, keep talking about the "first 3" in normal conversation, but once you've done first 3 at least once, you can give him that *or* any of the other combos.

Initial straight 8, for you, would be J K L M N O P Q - the eight consecutive letters of the alphabet starting with your first letter. (Wraps around from Z to A, if you were wondering.)

7 of a kind is what it sounds like, and I think it can be any letter you please.

First thing to do:

Trade first 3 of your name.

Then you can do either of the following to get Happy and Fortune Eggs:
7 of a Kind
Straight 8 starting on first letter of name

You can also trade the first five letters of a Conquest Region to get a furniture piece corresponding to whoever controls the region. If Beastmen control the region you get turned into one.

Also, which egg is the one that increases MP? I may try to get that one. 1% isn't a lot for me right now (about 4 MP), but I guess it'll add up later on. And since the Morion/Phantom Tathlums have gone up to disgusting prices, I've got nothing else to toss in my Ammo slot. ^^

Well you got the 7 of Kind half accurate, it's 7 of any letter egg. Only the "First 3" and "Initial Straight 8" do you use your name.

I don't believe it for a second. Join a party with someone with a name starting with "A" and you can choose A, specifically. Every 48 minutes 200 new eggs flood the market. 8 of those are going to be A's.

Definatly more then 8. What you are forgetting though is you also have to factor that out of 26 letters A is used 1/5th of the time or more so even though 8 may come out every hour there is likely a damand for more then 40 Eggs all lettered "A".

I would imagine that all Vowels will have that similar demand were the constants (With the exception of "S") will be in much less demand. Do some study up on Soundex's and Phonetic's and you'll start to see that even with just 8 "A" Eggs coming out an hour it's still to few to cover demand for it.

EDIT:

Most of the constants though are fine since they are used about 1/21th of the time which every hour the 8 from them will almost cover the demand of 10 of that same letter.

EDIT AGAIN:

Scall those numbers up to the login average of players and you have roughly 115 Eggs of any Letter every hour, and a demand of about 600 Eggs of Letters A,E,I,O,U and 120 for the other letters.

For some quick example purpose I took each player name I found just on this thread and broke down what letters were in demand for the first 3.

We have "A" with 6 demands, "L" with 4, and "E"/"R" tied with 3. Out of just 11 people you only have less then 15% chance of someone getting just 1 of the 4 letters in demand here.

Did the math to just get 1 of the 4 letters in demand you have exacly 1.39860~%* chance of getting just 1 of those letters.

*Corrected the number, for some reason it came out wrong the first time I did it. Not a big change only by like .03%

When you're in a party you can choose a letter from the first letter of people in your party. So if you were in a party with Jeff, Chris, Zulus, and Tim, you could choose "J", "C", "Z", or "T".

Is there a Lucky egg this year? If so, what's the combo to get it? I've already got Forntune and Happy eggs so if those are the only two eggs this year I'll just sell eggs for the next week and make a nice profit, only turning in region names if I happen to get them. Are there any other combos that get you unique things? Meh, maybe I'll just stock up on chocobo tickets for when I have to rent from a crag.

Me and my friend were working on finding more combos, so we put in ALUCKYEG, hoping to get A Lucky Egg.... but instead my friend got a Lamp Egg... o_0;

I have been getting these eggs for making Gil, so far I have made nearly 100k gil over the last 1-2 days by selling the eggs for 3-5k gil each, this is a great way of farming so do it while you can.

You can also mine the eggs using a Pickaxe, I have only done this in Zerhun mines so am not sure about the others.

My best result so far has been 8 eggs in a single game day.

Different 3 letter combo's should also get you a Rare sweet, there are different ones that do different things, but "RUF" got me a White Drop which gives CHR+5 for around 15 mins.

I bazaar them with my mules and collect items with my main. I've gotten everything I want except for some funiture pieces, so I'll be selling lots of eggs until it's over. I've spent most of the last two days sitting in town trading eggs. It's too addicting.

Has anyone tried first 4 letters of races, like taru, galk, mith, etc?

Its great seeing people complain about this event, then you just tell them how easy it is to make money from it, 10 mins later they are doing shout outs trying to sell them for 5k a piece.

Also, check everyone and anyone you can, particularly in mines and areas without moogles, I've been buying them from people for 500-1k gil and selling them minutes later for 2k each.

In my 3 months in the game, I've never had so much money to spend, this will finance my Ranger for a while to come.

It seems any money I do make I end up spending on more eggs. I only need 2 more nation funiture pieces and a lucky egg if they even have that this year. I saw someone selling 10 eggs for 1,000g, needless to say I snatched them up and sold them all for 4,000g. Profit like whoa. By the end of this event I'll probably be set for the rest of my game life for gil.

I have all the 3 nation pieces and the fortune egg, the + 1% MP should come in useful when i eventually level my DRK and PLD.

Best way to get the 7 alike eggs is to talk to your LS and get someone to party with you, they will get your names first letter, you get theres, and keep repeating it.


Does anyone know when this event is over? I hope it lasts forever.

Just an FYI the "Lucky Egg" that the last easter egg event has was renamed to "Fortune Egg", they had to rename it because the original "Lucky Egg" was a totally different one not related to this event at all.

And yes you can still get the Happy and Fortune Eggs by doing the 7 of a Kind and Inital Straight 8.

Also if you hadn't read the previous post for one of the new combos. You can get all 3 nation eggs (Flower egg, Wing Egg, and Lamp Egg) by picking a region your nation controls and getting the first 5 letters to it.

The hype with these eggs seems to be over now, as most are going for 1k on my server with A's, F's and U's going for 2-3k.

I've made 300k gil from this and have used it to ensure my Ranger has the best equipment available, this should get me to level 30 and beyond easily.
