ok this is what is up lol. Somtimes when I get on the game I play for about 3 hours then the game like goes dark all of a suden and it doesnt change could this be because I have not cleaned my ps2? and its like 4-5 years old? well I'm thinking of cleaning it today should I or is it to late?

If you look in your Playstation user manual... it actually says the words "Sony Playstation parts are not built for long term use exceeding two to three year." No shit... I swear to God it says that.

So I think anyone that has a PS2 that is that old - and is still working, rock on! I have been through about 3 PS2's my original on release date. I would diffenently clean it. I had alot of Disk Read Errors and Black Outs after long term effects.

Some signs that your PS2 needs to be clean is actually a game's load time aswell. If your PS2 collects so much dust on the motherboard, it will slow down noticebly.

I know all this because I actually learned to fix PS2s after my first 2 took a dump on me.
