Just a while ago as a bst48,i decided to try a new lvling spot in misareaux.When i got there i tried taming the mantraps,and using them against the crabs and fish in the river.Things got well,until i released,and tried taming it after the fight.It always almost resisted it 4-5 times,before i could charm it again.It was a DC fly if i remember right:)Are these mobs as hard to charm as a jelly if anyone knows?Im surprised because normal flys usually dont resist charms this much,compared to "traps" like this.Lastly i would like to know if there are any stuff i shoud not try taming such as,opo-opo's,raptors and such.I wouldnt rule out jelly coz it makes wonderful pets soloing at times;)

I've heard rumors that the new fly trap mobs are charm resistance.

If it makes you feel any better, that charm resistance is lessened when you get a Ligh Staff at lvl.51. Retire signa for BCNM40s ^^;

Edit - Feel free to use Gauge when you can. With all your +CHR stuff, you'll know whether it's charm resistant or not.

Due to an expeirence with 2 BSTs doing COP 2-5, I would say that the fly traps are charm resistant. They had the same thing where the first charm worked, but they couldn't get it to recharm after it wore off.
