Fishing for AF2 doable as non-PLD?

I'm currently a 51PLD, and am about to head down to Oztroja to fish the pugil for AF2. The thing is, I'm pretty sure a 51 PLD still get a decent amount of aggro down there, so I'm wondering if doing the fishing with another job (RNG in my case) would work. I'd imagine that something like this has been asked before, but I couldn't find it. :(

Most likely, since it's a quest job shouldn't matter, like for Dark Spark. I haven't heard of it or tried it myself though.

The screwdriver on that NM fish is brutal. Soloing as a Rng/nin might be possible at your level but it's not a mob to be underestimated.

a blm fished out that mob for me and it was me blm lvl 70 and drk lvl 71 lets just say guillition takes nearly half the hp of the mob and a few quake 3's finished it v.v the guilition from the drk was about 1.1k + by the way :) hope that helps a bit

Yeah, I'm probably gonna go solo it sometime. Slugshot, Barrage, EES, Slugshot, [Icarus Wing] Slugshot should kill it about two times over. :p

Lv75Mnk killed mine in 15seconds after pop with a couple of hits 300%TP and some kick ass ws, it was in Jp so I dunno which. :)

Yes, any of the quest AF's you can do as another job.

I fished up the PLD fish as MNK75 for the rare/ex item. I opened the EN coffer for the old gauntlets as THF (err picked the coffer with THF tools :biggrin: ). So yeah, it's doable as long as it's not one of the coffers with the equipment inside, e.g. the Beadeaux coffer with the gallant breeches in it.
