Stonega II

Okay, I've been recently updating all my equipment and buying all the spells I'll need for 40-50. So... Stonega II has me a bit baffled. For the price (about 80-100k on Ifrit) is it worth it? How many times will I use it? Getting the gil isn't a problem, and I don't like to miss a spell, but I don't want to spend gil on a spell I won't use. :p

You will probably be using it in the next lil while when you fight coreuls in Onzozo. (63~66)

It's semi useful for 3~4 levels of exping, then you won't be using it again for a long time. ^^;


Note that you will also have Stone III by then, which is comparable in strength with Stonega II, while using less MP and no AoE risk. It's also a lot cheaper then Stone II.

You will also get Stone III, which is one level up in power.. so having Stonega II only means you get 3 strong spells to rotate instead of 2.


IMO you can do without it if you want. It's not really critical, or even useful, but some people, like me, can't stand not having every spells I can get my hands on. (I even bought all 6 ancient :sweat: )

It's not worth buying for that much money, you'll barely end up bursting with Stone and by the time you do you'll have Stone III which does more damage.

i just found out its the highest spell at lvl 40. Since im doing all the COP capped missions now ..im happy having it.

Stonega II .. er.. .sucks.

I used BLM in one of my level 40 cap missions (Diabolos), and never once during that fight did I wish I had Stonega II. Later on, Ouryu, a level 50 cap, will laugh at your earth spells and return fire with a Stonega II of his own. If your reason to buy Stonega II is CoP missions on your BLM, don't.

Stone III outshines Stonega II in every way imaginable.

Wish I would have read this before I bought it 2 days ago. I think I paid around 40~45K in Rag. Oh well, another one of tons of spells I have that I'll hardly use:)

eh, if you don't want to spend the gil, just go kill the orish warlord a couple times. He's like a 15 min spawn, and he drops stonega II and quake I believe (not every time, but worth the wait if you're patient.)
