OK Well I'm level 52 now and decided to lvl RDM a bit and i just need some advice here.ill start by pointing out what i think would work then id take any inputs^^
for starts being a taru my INT is already very high and i have decent MND so what i was thinking is
20RDM/10NIN
Main:Small Sword
Sub: Beestinger
Head:Lizzy Helm(Later Emporer Hairpin)
Neck:Justice Badge(Spike Neckless at 21 good idea?)
Earring Left:Tormalaraine(Later with Morion)
Earring RIght:Same as left
Body:Priest's Robe(dont know think its lvl 19)
Hands:Zealot's Mittens
Ring Right:Coruage Ring
Ring Left: Balance Ring
Back:Mist Silk Cape
Waist:Need Suggestion
Legs:Lizard Trousers
Feet:Leaping Boots
Also should i bother with ranged? or wait till 25 for morion phatlium?
now just to say why i think this would work
1)I can skill up bother dagger and sword
2)Beestinger, Small Sword Balance Ring Spike Neckless Leaping Boots and Emp. Hairpin all give DEX boost which will help my hit ratio.
2)Coruage Ring and Spike Neckless both give STR which is critical in a taru case.
3) Priest Robe Silk Cape and Zealot's give some more MND which isnt a bad thing to have..
4)The AGI from Beestinger Leapings and Emp Hairpin give slight evasion boost if im correct, and Emp Hairpin has its own evasion boost to the side.
5) The Torm. Earrings give wind resistance which help guard against silence, at 31 morions(or morion+1s if i feel like farming) will help counteract the INT loss from Zealots.
Also at my level i think there is a belt or something that could give me some VIT boostj ust incase.
Overall I'm trying to hit every aspect of melee and magic in order to make sure im versitale enough to play an effective role in the party, while focusing huge boosts on things my race lacks(STR DEX and VIT) since Tarus have enough MP to last the sub NIN should help with the MP issues.
I thank you for any inputs in advanced and look forward to hearing from you.^^

well..I wouldnt suggest /nin really...ESPECIALLY pre 24...you wont even have utsu its basically useless imo, and tarus arent the greatest meleers either, I dont think they should melee as rdm personally...I would suggest go /blm, and wear +MP, MND and INT gear

Few things for my sub NIN just for personal opnion Skill up is good for higher levels, i stopped skilling up WHM in the jungle and i had to do hours and hours of skill up/coffer PTs to get some abilities im missing, still dont have them all yet too so the melees is for main skill up, Utsu would only be helpful for Soloing, same with the skill up for the attack, i shouldnt really get hate in pts even though its qufim and anything could happen lol. Just pointing out all the solo things since i got real used to it from soloing 16-20 in dunes off Ts >.< I dont really plan on making this a main job it just looks fun for a bit..

You have to keep in mind friend,

When you hear Rdms here, talk about melee subs and weapon skills you have to keep in mind the people that are talking about this are at the top of the food chain. They don't exp anymore. At least not like you are.

Just reading these things can give you a little bit of a distorted viewpoint of what being a Red Mage really is and the job you will actually be performing in a party most often and the true strengths and weaknesses of a Red Mage.

They can't screw up anyone's group by messing around, right now they are in a position to do pretty much anything they want whenever and not really hurt anyone else....

... you can't.... Not for a long long while.

And your effectiveness as a Red Mage in the levels it takes you to get there is completely different than theirs.

The combination you are thinking of taking up is just not a very effective one at all for an Rdm... until much much higher levels where its a very powerful soloer, still not very good in a group.

In the mean time, You have to group just to get to that point. And if you don't play it to absolute perfection you're going to end up being just an EXP leach on the groups you're with. And the likelihood of you getting it perfect the first time out... is very slim.
