Weather bonus damage

In the past, if the elemental spell I casted was same as weather in the area, I would get a damage bonus 100% of the time, but I recently noticed that my spells aren't doing any extra damage from the weather. With clear weather or single/double thunder weather, my thunder damage was the same regardless, etc. Does anyone have any idea what's preventing me from getting the bonus?

wrong staff will negate single weather bonus.

wrong day will negate single weather bonus...sometimes (random % chance?)

both these things are, i guess, pretty basic, but it's from experience! >< once i was worried about my thunder dmg in Ro'Maeve and turned out it was earthday (cuz thunder is strong vs earth, duh). don't forget to check the stupid things and question yourself, lol :sweat:

Seems to randomly apear in casts, havent had any certainty in increased spell damage while it was thunder day or thunder weather (or even thunder day, and double thunder weather).

When it does apear though, there seems to be an improvement of 10% to spells of that element (15% if you have AF2 pants). This effect can also stack in the case of weather AND day, or even double weather (as far as my trials have shown).

Double weather + day = mega damage, I learnt this from doing a 2100+ thundaga III MB on a golem......however my taru ass didn't stay alive for very long >.<

Yeah, I've noticed that its a flat 10% to total spell dmg.

But in regards to the OP, no its by no means a constant thing. It happens every once in a while, sorta like magic critical hits.

Day = randomly 10% bonus to spell damage
Weather = randomly 10% bonus to spell damage per icon

Yes, that means Thunder spells in Boyahda Tree on Lightningsday during Thunderstorm (2 lightning icon) conditions are extremely powerful. :P Be cautious when XPing there on crabs, as this can get you killed in a hurry if you aren't paying attention.
