I am currently a lvl 25 rdm/blm (or /whm if needed) and i was wondering about this for a while now.
So far up till now my macros for equipment changes have been seperate from spells but fromm what I read here they need to be in with the spells.
So I would like to know if i need to put in a /wait 1 after equipment change and before /ma "Whatever" <t>.
Thanks in advance ^^;

You don't necessarily need to have your equip macros seperate, but it makes everything a lot more easy. Once you get higher and start having macros for your vast number of buffs, enfeebles, and nukes its going to start getting really crowded and you'll most likely forget to hit your equip macro half the time.
I personally have all my equip macros in the same macro as the spell especially since I would have to switch to a different staff for each of my nukes. You don't have to put waits in between the equip and spell because it only needs to be done once the spell actually goes off, not when it starts casting. Also would screw up magic burst timing most likely if you had a wait before the spell.

Here's a little snippet of some of my macros. You won't need nearly as many equip changes at lower levels, so you can just use one macro per spell. I used to put every equip change in 1 macro, but now I have to put them in 2 macros because I have too many pieces of equipment to change.
If you're confused by how they work, I have to push Ctrl+1 and Alt+1 to get all my MP equipment. Dark Staff and Errant body are there for more MP gain during /heal.
If I want to Convert and Cure IV, I'll press Ctrl+1, Alt+1, then hit enter twice. The <stpc> tags are very nice because I don't have to waste macro lines with /wait #. It also lets me just use Alt+1 as a MP equip change macro without having to go through convert.
If I want to cast Slow... I have to press Ctrl+3 then Ctrl+6. All Mnd based spells are on the top(ctrl) row.
Similarly, Alt+3 switches to Int equipment and Int based spells are placed on the bottom(alt) row.
If you notice, I prefer to use <stnpc> instead of <bt>. This is because it allows me to do my job safely when there is a link/add that I have to keep asleep. Alt+3 and Ctrl+3 have /ta <bt> lines on the bottom so I don't have to tab around for the mob if there's only one.
Note: Ogre Ledelsons will be replaced by Errant Pigashes when I reach level 72. I'm prepping my macros before I reach 72 because of the Errant gear. I am currently at 39/55 with mage only equipment.
