I read the requirements and it said Japanese windows
Then i read a post saying All you need to spend is 90 dollars.
Do I need to buy a japanese O/s as wella s the game itself?

You need Windows XP in order to play FFXI. Just change the regional encoding to display Japanese characters and you're ready to go. Here's the original thread on the step by step instructions.

ONLY Windows XP is able to change the regional coding to Japanese.

The thing is though, you don't necessarilly HAVE to have the language switched. Regardless of what every other person on this forum will tell you, you don't have to switch the input.

I don't even have Japanese letter characters installed on this computer and I play FFXI every single day.

The only thing you *might* be required to have the Japanese characters installed for is to create a name in the POL registration.

Win2K would actually probably be fine.
