Bomb Core (Throwing Item)
Lv. 63. [FIR]-6 Attack+12 Additional Effect : Fire Damage
Changing Ranged Attack weapon resets TP
Changing Ammo does NOT reset TPBefore I plop down gil, does anyone have suggestions for pulling while still getting the benefits of Bomb Core without resetting TP?

So far, I see 4 options:

Buy and macro lv7 darts from the Chocobo NPC for 10 gil a pop. The problem is that they only stack to 12, and I'd be burning a lot of inventory space.
Macro in my Cmb.Cst.Boomerang +2 and reset TP before each pull.
Buy 2 Pellet Belts, hope each use creates a stack of 12 pebbles, and alternate them to overcome the 1hr recast time.
Forget the Bomb Core and stick with my boomerang.FYI:
Pellet Belt:
Lv. 1. Dispense: Pebble
< Charge: 24 / Equip Delay : 30s / Recast Time : 1h >

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks,

Just heard Pellet Belts only disperse one pebble per use... if that's true, at least it narrows down the options.

Darts now stack in 99.

I like accuracy more than attack for thief, so the bomb core only gets equipped during sneak attack trick attack weaponskill. Can go from the boomerang to the bomb core without losing tp.

Thanks for the heads up :)

I think I'll test out the dart route, especially if I consistently get 100% TP faster than my SC partner.

Btw, my kanji is really rusty, but is this a rough translation of your 2nd gif?

Umebosi: is kittycat japanese power?

Well, if you partner with RNG, you'll never have to worry about gaining TP quicker than him ;3

What about lightning bow +1

The problem with switching between throwable weapons and bomb core is you WILL forget to switch at some point. Or if you combine the equip macro with the pull macro you WILL eventually lose your bomb core because of lag.

Because of problems like this I lost both of my easter event eggs. It's really stupid that items like that can be throwed.

for exp pt theres really only 2 options imo: either lightning bow+1 or ziska's crossbow, or you dont pull and use bomb core, but parties expect you to if theres no rng.
like omena said, at some point you will forget to switch or it will lag or whatever, it's way too much stress to always watch closely if equip got exchanged or not...

also the CC boomerang+2/bomb core switch works only in one direction, if you switch back to boomearng from core you lose the tp you gained from the ws, basically nullifying the +5acc of the boomerang.

Been there, done that, done better :)

I used a Lightning Bow +1 as soon as I hit 55. Shortly afterwards I learned about Cmb.Cst.Boomerang+2 and proceeded to use that instead whenever Bastok doesn't control a region. Accuracy Bonus +5 helps more than Dex+3 imho.

However, attack+12 completely blows away dex+3 at thf63. This is because adding 3 to my base 76+20 dex isn't close to as useful as boosting the attack multiplier.

Also, since I regularly PT with a bard, I think my accuracy bonus +20 from Sniper's + Life Belt should be more than sufficient.

Currently, in TP mode, I have +36 attack from equip alone and loving it. War sub attack trait provides another 10, berserk provides more than 75 (not even counting food), and I still have +25 accuracy bonus and +18 str.

I'm looking forward to raising attack to +48 from equipment.

SATA Mode: http://ffxi.allakhazam.com/profile.xml?46732
SATADE Mode: http://ffxi.allakhazam.com/profile.xml?46733

Minor update: Took my Corsair's Knife out of my MH and the additional +10 attack still seems to be better (weaker on normal hits, helps a lot for SATA). +58 Attack is fun :spin:
