Fishing = broken. Don't fish right now.

Well it seems that fishing is now broken. And S-E knows and they really don't seem to care. When I called a GM about my chr. being FROZEN in place (in the fishing stance, not moving, tail not moving, nothing). Even ENTER wouldn't bring me out of my fishing pose. THe only thing that I could do was to alt-tab out of the game so I could relog in.

Well, I fished some more to make sure I could do this again.

Well, right after I got back in game, I called a GM, then it happened again, so I waited, and it seems they know about this issue and are "Working on it." (don't you just live this answer?")

So, it seems that a few areas that I've found have had this problem.

Bottom line, don't fish right now, it's extyremely buggy.

I'm not sure if this was serverwide or not... but at 1am EST on Leviathan, they restarted Rabao.

I had no problems in Saruta last night. I also logged out shortly before 1am...

I had a fishing/frozen game issue months ago. I thought it had something to do with my settings. After about 30 minutes or so, the game would freeze. After dabbling with settings it eventually went away, making me think some setting made a difference. But, I considering that SE has kind of verified that it is a serverside problem, this may just be a resurfaced problem.

1. people in my LS seemed to get frozen games or crashed to desktop

2. somebody in my LS said people who fish get frozen

3. i've been fishing all yesterday, and today, even since each update and i've been 100% fine

i'm fishing right now still, and have been for hours and haven't had any problems at all

I'd say they probably actually do know about the problem and fixed it last night in the system wide server emergency maintenance last night around 0 PDT. Though you do get that response for just about everything, unless it's been a problem that's been around for awhile or something you don't really expect GMs to be capable of handling, it's probably a legit answer.

Sere, the thing is my game awsn't frozen, I guess it was fixed, this was yesterday about at 6pm est that I got the statue effect, I'm right by rabao let me try to fish there again.

That's what that was all about?

The people in my LS were making cracks that it was an attempt by SE to hurt the fishbots in Rabao by automatically logging them all off. One person was even joking that they were planning on spawning Kirin in Rabao to wipe them out if bringing the zone down didn't work.

Uh, didn't happen to me. Maybe it could be your computer, like graphic/model files screwing up? Btw, why post "DO NOT FISH!"?... not everyone is getting bugged up :X.

Yea i got this fishing in Rabao too, i was crafting there (using earth crystals..love that weather there...i seem to fail less) and i thought..might as well fish..and after a while i noticed...i wasnt moving...:sweat:

My LS mate called a GM and they zoned me to where i logged in Rabao and i was fine. I dont see why you necessarily blame a GM for being useless for every single issue...sure on some things like HNMs issues or certain training...yes they arent as useful as they should be. But they were helpful in this situation and they (i assume) fixed the bug. I am pretty sure it said somewhere in the manual that they cant really say anything besides they are looking into things..cant really blame them since their superiors said they need to be like that..=/ I just feel saying they are useless in this instance...is kinda..not warrented..

But they seem to fixed this problem as I tried again yestready and it never messed up on me.
