Black Screen

Hi^^
I am a FFXI noob and I hope you can help me.
I just installed and updated everything and I also created already my character.
But when I try to start the game, the screen turns black and I just can see the mouse arrow. I can also hear the background music.

Does anyone knows how to solve this problem?

if you're using a PC, its probably not too fast if thats happening..just let it sit a few mins and itll load...should load anyways
