Well, back in my days of thievery, it became my custom to, if need be bust this out:
/ja Provoke <t>
/ja Flee <me>
This is my "if shit hits the fan" macro. Does anyone think this is stupid, or agree with me in thinking it's a noble way of going down and basically entitles you to good drops? ;)
(hahaha, you think a thief would do this without a motive? XD)

yea my friend loves to do this,he actually looks forward to the opportunity cause its the THFs moment to shine above the rest of the classes

you shouldnt ever have to take one for the team.
just get some agro, flee run away to a safe spot, perfect dodge->logout
you save your party and save your exp.

haha, such devious methods coming from a WHM. ;) lol, that's a good idea though. Does PD last that long? oO

long enough to logout as long as they don't use non-physical attacks (spells, goblin bomb toss?)

It lasts 30 seconds, ms. level 1 thf with flee :spin:

it lasts 30s, same as logout timer, so as long as you have some distance on the monster the distance on the mob your fine.
hmm maybe a good use for that new stoneskin charge item? to protect you from magic/breath attacks.

:P I played to lvl 29 last year, until my mom cut me off. XD Since POL screwed me over, I can't play again until like...5PM today and I will regain my flee! >< :P Believe me? Probably not, but whatever.
lol same thingi cant play till like 5 :( but ive never seen thf take one for the team.. normally i see pld, whm, or rdm use 2 hour
i tried once and i died lol i pressed the wrong macro like 50 times thinking it was flee.

heh, it's a waste of a 2hr if the THF can do it every 5 minutes. ;)

I've never been able to pull off the PD+logout trick. I always come back as a corpse. Is there some timing trick that you use?

lol i want to know who voted dont take one for the team so i can stab them...
annnnyways, whenever there is an instance of anyone in trouble ill just use ninja powder or take aggro with WS then either flee or just tank the battle. i.e.... jp TT pld friend in a group near ours aggro'd manticore once and was running for life... i just used boomerang and fleed it to its camp and used hide... simple enough.
oh and for the PD+log out trick, it can come in handy every once in a while, just make sure you push perfect dodge and then the windows key right afterwards because the log out time is too long unless you get lucky on the last few hits (if your train is 2+ mobs, and they would most likely be VT+, you probably wont survive the last few seconds of logging out. im really against this trick though, if anything happens just train to nearest entrance, deal with adds, or solo at higher levels.

Last time I tried to do that, actually, the WHM used Benediction so I was just standing there with Flee on going "..."
Then the two Rangers in our group used EES at the same time and knocked off the last half of the Gob's HP to hell and back =P

i usually dont take one for the team(usually when i feel the party doesnt deserve it). its hard to gain xp at times since there's so many thf's in my lvl range. but sometimes when there's no other way to save the only person with raise in a party i usually try to lure the mob away
