Hello,

This may be a bit convoluted but go with me here guys.

what i need is some help (Duh) :P

My frind (14THF) and I (13BLM) are going to start raising our crafting skills each one to lvl 10 before moving on to the next and were planning on doing them together. i.e i get cooking to lvl 10 then he does, then i get goldsmithing to lvl 10 followed by him.

so what i need from you guys is a guide if you can of how is the best way to lvl the skills so that were making the most of the items we craft.

we are not interested in profit at this stage whatsoever and money of items synthed will be used to lvl crafting skills more.

ideally wed like to be able to utilize what we synth where possible in exp gain at a later date. i.e MP regen for my BLM from food or ATK bonus for THF.

any help would be much appreciated

kris

This is actually a nice idea for early cooking. Here's how.

your friend starts leveling fishing while you farm for wind crystals.

-- fishing 0-5 crayfish (keep all of them)
-- fishing 5-10 bastore sardine (keep all of them)

when he's done with the crayfish, hand them to you and you'll start cooking.

-- cooking 0-3 peeled crayfish (1 wind crystal + 1 crayfish). sell results to guild.

when he's done with the sardines, hand them to you and you start cooking again.

-- cooking 3-11 sliced sardine (1 wind crystal + 1 sardine). pls have advanced image support for lvls 3-7. sell results to guild.

Now just switch roles. When all is said and done, you'll both have 10 fishing and cooking skills. Sell whatever you have left over after this for some more money.

After this comes roast mushrooms (2 shrooms + rock salt + fire) until 16. I'll leave it to you to figure out how to team up for this (it's pretty easy).

The best way to find out how to lvl 0-10 with the minimal loss of gil I would presume is to look at the sticky:threads for each guild on this forum.

No, actually the best way is to do research yourself. Server economies are very different. What may make money on one server could loose on another. Use them as guidlines, but don't blindly follow them.

thanks neighbourtaru.

this is exactly the type of advice that were looking for.

much appreciated!!!!!!

i just wonder if you have any other words of wisdom like this that we can apply to other trade skills?

im thinking something like i get to lvl 10 goldsmithing. then my friend does, but the brass ignots he make at lvl 9 i use to make brass sheets at lvl 11. type thing...

we have already farmed a lot of crystals and well do more, i dont fancy mining i must admit, but if you seriously think it would help then let me know!
