If you got FFXI to work in school... pls post here

As the topic says, anyone got FFXI to work in school?

i have to use JAP, Your-freedom (similar to http tunnel and http port, but ALOT faster and FREE) and sockscap32 just to surf ffxionline... run JAP socksified that is

anyway, i cant get into the FFXI server, only the pol server,

anyone? anyone? :( :(

High School?

College?

If you're still in High School or below, I don't see how you possibly have the freedom / time to login to a computer game while at school. Don't you have to be in a class the entire time?

If you're in College, your dorms should have some sort of internet connection you can use. If you don't, then your College sucks lol.

im in 11th grade, living in a dorm,

and the internet here is all firewalled,

anyway, i believe the problem is that although the POL viewer is launched socksified, ffxiapp is a different program that POL opens and hasnt been socked by sockscap32... ; ;

lol, I had like....2 hours of free time a day at my old school. XD I believe he's/she's in boarding school though.

I would think that you could setup that JAP so it puts the program that POL opens into a socks as well. The POL just opens that FFXI.exe file or whatever it's called, you'll know if you got the right one because when you double click it a message saying it needs another program running for it to run will come up.

Anyway if I remember in one the planned update or an update to come I thought SE was planing to make the FFXI program executable directly from the game so it basically bypasses the POL part. If that is the case then you won't have to worry when they do that >.>

i tried running pol through JAP whch runs through sockscap which runs through your-freedom, didnt work, i even set the proxy settings in pol to make sure it has the proper settings to run with JAP,

i thought of hte ffxi.exe thing as well but i cant seem to find the file... searching for *.exe in the square folder didnt turn up much, just all the config apps and pol.exe itself

ill try to look harder for it, i too, remember seeing something like that, or its my imagination, either way no harm trying

You can create the FFXI shortcut in the Final Fantasy XI Config.

Note that although it claims to link you "directly to FFXI" all it does is skip a couple of menus in the POL viewer.

you still need to use the stupid thing to login >.<
