DRK can sub THF and control hate.
THF can't sub DRK and do 100dmg per swing.

its not the per swing i am talking about, its SA TA he wants it to be really strong for a strong hold on the PLD and also more damage on a Distortion SC also War dont get as many ATK ups as a DRK does which is the main reason he wants to do it and why would he want double attack when he has Triple attack coming up.

I've never done more damage than with thf/drk souleater, but that drains so much hp =x_x=

Tried this a couple days ago, and it was hella fun.

Level 61-62 set party fighting toramas. As a thf/nin I'll do a satade damage range of about 403-650 against these. Now, as a thf/drk I was doing 750-1100 with Souleater and Last Resort on, and ranging 500-700 on satade without those two abilities (damage improvement probably from the two passive attack ups? I didn't think they'd help that much, and I didn't buy any new gear from the last time...).

SELR+SATA+DE will take a 900 hp thf to about 500 hp. Not so bad if your party is mage-heavy and can heal you without too much expenditure so you can leave SE on and do about 40-60 per swing for a little bit.

Also important to note that souleater improves your accuracy while it's active. It was extraordinarily noticeable for me, since I don't have much in the way of +acc gear (just a belt), and when you re-check the same monster after activating SE, it will check low evasion :)

Doesn't necessarily make it a "great" sub...just a hell of a fun one to play with...my record with it was 1168. My LOWEST SELR+SATA+DE was 743 that night, which was well above my highest as a thf/nin. So, yeah, it was exciting to be a better DD for a night. I might do it again next time since it was such a blast.

Ah, pretty nice, though my highest SA+TA+DE damage on toramas at L62 as thf/nin was over 900, and I reached it several times. If SE didn't have such a huge delay, /drk would make a great sub for thief.

What are you wearing to get 900 on toramas as thf/nin? Harness and a peacock charm? :P My gear isn't top notch, given I spread my funds out over a few jobs and interests, but it's not BAD, either. I'm not wearing a flora cote or an amemit +1, but I'm not gimped. o_O

Last time I broke 800 on thf/nin was on perytons in VoS. Otherwise, only on VT and below and some NMs like Three-Eyed (one of the two PLD AF3 orcs) and the undead elf from whm af3. :P

I was wearing:
Emperor
Cermet Kukri +1
Bone Knife +1
Lightning Bow +1
Amemit
Life Belt
2x Fang Earrings
Sniper's Ring
Fluorite Ring
Leaping Boots
AF Pants
Black Cotehardie
Meat Mithkabob

Note that every time I broke 900 it would be with the aid of triple attack.

I think I'm broken >< I'm wearing almost exactly that, except instead of a sniper ring, another flourite, a darksteel +1 instead of cermet +1, a regular lightning bow, and 2 drones instead of 2 fangs. I actually get dramatically lower results wearing fangs :/
