hi guys,

ok we all know that Thief sub rocks post 60 (if you don't stop reading right now and look up our subjobs you friggin noob lol)

But what about subbing it before 60? my warrior is 17 and ill run out of a sub at 34, my thief meanwhile is 32 and ill have a sub up to 64. Can i start being a DRK/THF at 34 or must i start lvling warrior again?

The general consensus is that /WAR is better, but I've seen a few DRK/THF's in the 50's deal nice damage with Sturmwind + SA.

The only real use for /thf sub is to close the light or darkness skillchain. Otherwise its horrible compaired to /war. Don't bother with it till 65/66.

You'll do more damage with war sub and get invites more easily.

It's worth it, so get workin on it :p

i always felt noob was an atitude not a level. i've known some lvl 65 players in EQ that still had no idea what they were doing.

But you really should have both ready.

There are times when you'll be asked to sub /THF between 60-65. Not always, but some times.

Main reason for when that occurs is for closing a distortion chain. SATA + Sicklemoon = 600 damage, same any viperbite but weaker than dancing edge. But if you throw souleater behind it, you can close with 800 damage like dancing edge go.

Again, /WAR is more typical. But by 60, you really should have both /WAR and /THF up to date.

I am a strong believer of THF at 60, because of Guillotine.

If you plant guillo onto the tank, it won't go anywhere for the entire fight.

If you use war sub, it will probably turn to you and fuck you up for 10 seconds.

Meanwhile, the WHM is trying desperately to save you with cure 4's and just loses a bunch of unnecessary MP.

I've played as thf sub the entire time - warrior just gets you invites from other thieves ;)

Sneak Attack + Hard Slash is a decent distortion closer around lvl 40. At 55 you get Crescent Moon which isn't as good as Sickle but can still put out 600 damage with SA. It's more of a personal style - either do more damaging weaponskills with thief sub, or do horrible completely lousy in every way weaponskills but you have berserk warrior.

/thf before 60? nah. 60-65 depends on the pt either /war and scythe or /thf and gs

mikasa's signature quote still makes me laugh.

The part from LAKERS onwards is just funny. haha.

have /thf and /war ready by 60. your role is situational.

I got more /war requests than /thf requests, but this was pre TP-nerf.

/sam was nice back then, in certain "fun" Pts.

had a Pt with sam/war, drg/sam, and my drk/sam, brd/pld, blm/whm, rdm/whm

Was pretty sure EXP would be weak.

heyhey 5-6k an hour wasn't bad, ripping up Cape Terrigan. sigh, i miss spamming multi-hit WS sometimes.

I'm pretty sure Berserk's 25% increase in damage is much better then the 1 crit a minute boost from THF.. Also it's impossible to have TP for every Sneak Attack. If you have less then 60% accuracy, it's also impossible to have TP for every other Sneak attack, unless the mob is beating on you.

not to mention Double Attack = VERY useful for us, since with the 528 delay scythes, we swing every 8.8 seconds.. so each Double Attack that kicks in saves us 9 seconds of waiting.
