Some say your sub depends on your race, others say it doesn't matter.

As Elvaan, I was told to sub THF @ Lv.20 for the added DEX. But sub WAR through Valkrum Dunes to save your mages.

I sub'd WAR to about Lv.32 since I didn't have a THF15 to use. I was DRK/THF15, always /anon because I was ashamed of my under leveled subjob until Lv.40. I then bit the bullet and leveled THF to Lv.25.

Some DRKs say @ Lv.50 you sub WAR25 for Double Attack, that you'll have a higher damage out put. I've yet to experiment with that, but I do know I love having Sneak Attack, Evasion Bonus, Flee, and Steal. I'd imagine I'd cap my weapons faster with Double Attack though. And Berserk doesn't draw hate like Last Resort does.

So I'd suggest subing anything you want to Lv.10. WAR from Lv.10 to Lv.20, then THF to Lv.25. Sub WAR and THF as you see fit, and your party requests until Lv.60, when you sub THF. DRK SATA, and SATA Guillotine will either get your tank killed, or let your mages blast away.

Are you guys seriously retarded? That is the worse information i have ever seen....

Dude go read Awntawn posts. He has talked about it very in depth. That is what I based my dark knight off of and I haven't had a single problem yet.

I retract my above statement but i have something to add to what TDH said.

You are going to want to have both Warrior and Thief leveled as subjobs For me its just more cost effective to level thf and warrior at the same time. Get in a party level your warrior until that party dies and then go switch jobs and level thf until that party dies. Keep the levels as close as posible that why upgrading equipment and weapons isn't to bad. I leveled my Warrior and my THF from 1 - 30 in less than 3 weeks. I power leveled every party that I was in so it went by a lot faster than normally but I think its posible to do it in a month without a power level. Just make sure your subs are not gimped and you will be good to go. The only time you should even use Thief sub is when your Dark Knight hits 60 or you have 2 melee damage dealers in the party and you want to mess around. (I never have used thief in a party as a subjob yet and I am 55.) Thief is great to level anyways because you get such great drops with TH so i would level him anyways just for farming purposes. Any other questions?

post 65 drks takes the place of thfs for hate management, basically. once you get spinning slash (assuming you have gsd properly leveled), then most parties expect you to sub thf.

If u are taru u have the excuse for subbing whm, rdm or blm, pre or early 30s those subs can be suprisingly useful.
