What To Switch To Darksteele

Im not near 66 I know, but im just curious which pieces of armor I should switch to Darksteele before Thick Set.
Here is my current Armor Set (Please dont say I need a Haubergeon, I know I do, just out of my budget range. >.<):

Head: Chaos Burgeonet
Body: Chaos Cuirass
Hands: RK Mufflers
Legs: RK Breeches
Feet: Chaos Sollerets

dark hmm, i never got it. might be useful for maat fight. i don't think it's too good. you're close to thick anyway. you should focus on getting a hauberk instead of buying stuff like this.

You can get by with AF on maat. It's not that bad of a fight just dont freeze up or get too anxious.

I beat maat on 3rd try cause 1st try I sortof got too anxious, and 2nd try I messed up and pressed the wrong macro. Used Icarus Wing when I was already at 100% TP instead of using Vile Elixer.

The lvl 65 Tiger set can be good too, I believe that it has +attack on it as well. If you are lvling in Onzozo at 60-64ish try getting the Assault Jerkin that may drop off the NM Ose there. You can use it later at lvl 67.

also im curious on what to wear when i farm. haubergeon is nice. but i notice the neg 20 evasion.. does effect how many times more i get hit. an when farming that means alot..

Wearing AF Body when Farming isnt bad. It's got more tanking potential than Haubergeon. +3 Vit +1 more def than Haubergeon +HP, and +attack (although small).

Dworkin you're gear is fine =.=. In time if you're up to it a Bomb Core can replace the Ranged slot. +12 Attack, It's not needed and is based on preference; seeing as how Lightning bow has +2 Dex.

Due to the fact that I was tarutaru also I went with RSE Boots for the better stats it had than AF ~_~; Taru RSE Boots gave me more HP and +3 Str (or +2, can't remember) with a sacrifice of lower def.

If you have a similar case you may opt. for better stat boots.

Well, Darksteel armor (level 65-67) is pretty much impossible to find on my server as its so expensive to make and isn't that popular.
Its a very pretty suit of armor, it's the purple and gold recolor of the IM armor. There's alot of NPCs wearing peices of it here and there.

Stat wise, its actually pretty damn good. Not only does it have considerably higher DEF than Hauberk and Thick set (about 15 or so more defense overall), its got some nice stat boosts. Even with the minuses it gives an overall +2 to STR, DEX, AGI, INT and VIT as well as +10 to Dark and Light Magic skill.

I wanted it for a long time, for looks, farming and Maat fight, so I had a japanese crafter make it for me (very hard because it requires 86 smithing and 50+ goldsmithing) - total cost was about 200K for the peices and to pay the crafter, but considering the boots go for 90K on AH and the rest for 40-50K a peice, I got off lucky.

I'll post a pic of it once I hit 67 (hopefully this week) as well as the stats so you guys can see it. I think its a nice suit of armor to have macro'd for defensive duties (+Phalanx rings {{Yes, Please.}}, but it really isn't a necessity.

i heard the thick set was better then the darksteele gear? plus i heard nothing touchs haubeks stats.. but as for seing you in gaer. please post it asap.. sounds like it be cool as all hell :thumbsup:


so what that 60 drk was saying, what would you wear to farm, an what would you were to exp pt. an im talking absolute best...
