Has anyone ever done any testing on the "Enhances 'Double Attack' effect" on these? I personally have no idea how much it enhances it but I'm a big big fan of Double Attack and don't want to risk nerfing it much. I can't really see much better than Fighter's Calligae but if the enhancement turns out to be only like an extra double hit every thirty attacks or so then the accuracy+3 from Adaman Sollerets would work out better overall.

If you are using a great axe, the effect of the calligae may seem minimal because of the great axe's chance of striking twice in the first place.

I noticed a good amount of extra double strikes while dual wielding axes. It may have been small, but I consider it a good amount because it had an obvious effect on holding hate, along with the enmity+1.

If you're a War/Nin definately keep them. War/Thf or /Sam I'd go with +Acc. You could use the accuracy since great axes swing so rarely, that missing a hit here and there would have an obvious negative effect on the battle. You wouldn't want to enimty+1 anyways.

That's how I see it, but I'm only level 52.

I've heard that it doubles the chance of Double Attack, specifically from 10 percent to 20 percent. That seems high to me, but I do Double Attack a LOT with /NIN and the boots on. I would think 5->10 would be more reasonable a guess.

There aren't any better foot options for a long time, so why sweat it?

I've been interested in knowing just what they do. I might go out later and try it out with dual wielding axes, one axe, and great axe and record how many times I double attack w/ them on and w/o them on......though I'm sure luck is the biggest determining factor.

Another rumor I heard that it makes the Double Attack stronger (which I severly doubt).

Plus they look sweeeet.

War/Nin tanking is the most suited for AF. Some stuff isn't useful at all, but some of it REALLY helps us out.

That's kinda what I was hoping someone had done but your second point is also what worries me about the results somewhat. Let me know if you try it and what you discover.

Enchance Double Attack:
Dont feel it makes a difference pretty much just 1 renkei to finish the mob.

+3 acc +3 atk:
Dont feel it makes a difference if you already have more then +45 acc and atk.

+1 vit +15 hp +17 def:
Probably wont make a difference too.

But when i fought Fafnir and Nidhogg, i do experience that i need the highest ACC i can get. I also wish i could sacrfice all my atk to get my ACC +100 just to hit them :)

Do you fight the HNMs as /Sam?

Yeah, for HNMs it's a good idea to load up on ACC. Since I'm a lowbie, I've only fought the lowbie HNMs, but they're still hard to hit. At 66 against Roc w/ only +31 ACC, the THF got TP twice as fast as me (5 levels or more above me) and I even mised my first Mistral Axe.

I now have +44/54 ACC though, so hopefully that'll help...also need to pick up a couple of Snipers.

Going out to do some small testing with the boots, be back in a few. ;)
