Summerfest 2nd item?

Does anyone know what the second item you get from the summerfest is after the ceremonial Gi? Doing it one time was already a pain in the ass with the sheer amount of people crowding into the area, and I'm just wondering if it's worth the hassle to do it 4 more times to get the other item.

I got the second Item just now, not sure if its worth it...as know one so far knows what the hell it puts up is...Here's the stats:

Lords Yukata-Def2 Improves goldfish-scooping ability

No one I have spoken to knows what goldfish-scooping is at all...my only guess at the moment is that it will come in play during another event during this summerfest, I guess we'll just have to wait and see.

i'm stuck at work and can't play for a bit. can anyone explain what is required to get the items. i see posts on what the items are, but not how to get them. since i can't play now, i don't know if you just talk to a moogle in town, or if you have to go do a quest for it or something. any info would be appreciated.

get a partner any race/sex cept wat ur character is. talk to moogle get ported some damn hi lvl dungeon. u are sneaked and invisi u just run around trying to find a GOAL POINT. u cancel invisi examine the point u get an item and u use the glyph given to u to port back to town....ur also lvl 1 so if u die u dont lose exp.

"Gold fish scooping" is a traditional game played at Japanese festivals (matsuri) and the like. You basically have a "scoop" thats made with a very thin piece of paper. The idea is to fish up a gold fish out of the water without breaking the piece of paper.

This is entertainment? Well... ^^;

I just got word from a friend that if you trade all 8 items to the Moogle you'll then get the goldfish scooper. I hope this is all worth some cool item or something in the end.

Russta you can't do a group of like Mithra and mithra, or galka and galka, so it makes getting all eight items kinda weird. But you could always go in a group once you and a friend have all 7 and then just take the items yourself and not trade.

Regular armor
HQ armor
13 fans
16 fans

You cannot turn in your 8th item, it is impossible.

Meh, I got the first item and stop from there. All the lag around the moogle and ppl shouting in the town for certian partners was a pain.

The new items are even more worthless than the Halloween ones, all of which were promptly disposed of to conserve space. But I must say this is by far the best event on FFXI to date, the fireworks are especially well done and there is actually new music for once.

meh I just want to have fun .. dun care if its worthless or not. Ive already met several people whove since become ls members . just by doing this festival fun.

if you think doin this quest is sucky.. go to a matsuri and try REAL gold fish scooping. with that damn piece of paper on a stick..

I have done gold fish scooping at matsuris when I was younger:) Those paper scooper might as well be called pooper scooper.

All I'm saying is that SE could do more to make the HQ items more worthwhile. Halloween HQ items would have been great except that they gimped it by applying ridiculous restrictions.

Luckily I started this event early and quickly targeted hard to find race and sex (Elvaan F). I still have ELV F, TAR F, and MIT item in case there is a 2nd half of event.

It's all fun and games until somebody dies. I died at LV73 when I accidently area changed and returned in Rancor, where I don't have the map. That was on my 2nd run and since then, I have always gone as LV1.

LMAO I knwo about 10 people that have rancor map... most people dont go there enough to bother etting it..
If a place could be called hell in FFXI . that place is it.

tai you're not alone, I pity people who do nothing but leveling all day. They might as well play some non-MMORPG if they aren't into having fun which involves interaction. Cause of this event I made a few new friends and met interesting people that I wouldn't have because of my level/what I do when playing.

Lag from people crowding moogles have subsided, so now's a good time to go if you don't like lag. But now there's far less people to partner up with.

I did on both main character and mule: normal gi, hq, all races again. There is no other items to get aside from fans/tickets.

Rancor den's goal points are mostly in the "small open spaces". There's many points per map as well.

how do I get the fans ? Just wondering and YES Im having a ball at the festival , I wish more people would just relax and enjoy themselves .

Goldfish scooping is amusing. Do a zoom on your face while you scoop. Head movement is pretty amusing.

A permanent mask as a prize would have been a good item. Masks and Matsuri (Festival) go hand in hand. SE could have come up with generic super hero or cuddly mask that you could wear like the pumpkin one.

Lastly, I have a question about the Rare items you received during 1st part of the event with Moogles. I assume these are worthless now. Confirmation please? BTW, I saved ELV F, Mithra, and Galka item in case I had to do it again:sweat:


Just to add something and a direct translation from the Fmemo site:

Drops lasts for 30 mins. You cannot take other medince (Food not confirmed) until the effect wears off.
Blue Drop　MND+5
Clear Drop　INT+5
Green Drop　AGI+5
Yellow Drop　VIT+5
Purple Drop　DEX+5
Black Drop Dezone effect

Once you have the mask firework, Black drops seem to be the best item. I doubt that you can choose.

Aside from HQ yukata you will keep getting more fireworks or chocobo tickets with those Ra Ex things.

Mystery box is the mask firework.

You can get all drops, if you have a certain drop you cannot get it again (Rare). If NPC attempts to give you that drop again, it will say "talk to him again" until you get a drop you don't have.

You can eat food with the drops. The drops are like absorb spells, you get the status up icon.
