DRK AF1 - Why does it have such a bad rep?

Now, im not aware of the stats or the quest to get it, but all i've heard about this weapon was bad stuff, can anyone explain why its so bad and/or post the specs on it? thanks-

It's a good weapon from 43-49 until you get Barbarian Scythe. That's all it is really though.

The NM is a tad annoying, a BLM Yagudo who manafonts, then goes mad with -ga spells. Ouchy. But get 2 50+'s and your set.

A lot of people are going ga-ga over
Mutilator lvl:40 Dmg: 62 Dly: 502 Accuracy: +3
for about 100k on Garuda, but I would prefer Raven any day.
Plus it's free.

I personally used Raven till lvl 58 when I got my Vassagos. Reason being that the -5 accuracy that Barbarians scythe gave looked too scary to even risk for my Elvaan DRK. And what I found funny is that Ravens scythe still gave 1 more attack point than Vassagos did when I equipped it.

That's because a weapon's D value is not part of your attack rating, but the +2 str from the Raven's scythe is giving you one addtl. attack point.

I've actually not heard anybody badmouthing the raven's scythe. It's actually a very decent weapon for it's lvl range. Though if you have sufficient +accurasy, the brb scythe is far better damage-wise once you hit 49.

well i was reading a FAQ on DRK over at www.gamefaqs.com that said this :

"Best stuff to wear:

Lets say you have a ton of money/done all the quests, etc. Look for/buy RSE
equipment, or hunt rare equipment off notorius monsters, or get AF gear (Drop
the AF scythe as soon as possible, its horrible)."


i heard from a few other people on ramuh that it was bad, idk though. from what u guys are saying it doesnt sound bad. i dont mind the stats either.

I swear by the mutilator scythe. The +3 acc on it makes it a much better choice than the Raven. I got mine for 50k the moment I saw one at the AH.

Does anyone know where the mutilator scythe comes from? I had never seen one before until recently. It rocks, and I'd bet that if it wasn't too easy to get, I might get considerably more than I paid for it in return.

+3 acc isn't much, I took a look at it, but the D on it was just too low. I'd rather have the 6 extra D from Raven scythe, plus the extra STR and INT.

Is the 502 delay also enough to get 100% TP after 8 hits?

It comes from the new BNCM 40 in Qu'bia Arena, Undying Promise. 15 Minutes, 3 people, fighting skeletons.
