Thinking of Taking Mysticmaker solo, what level should I be?

If I can do it at 60, that'd be nice :) but I don't want to take any chances. At which level could I reasonably take him out solo?

As usual, time is no concern :) A 2 hour fight is worth it if I can manage to win.

At lv60, you can easily duo him with a blm friend, or a tank friend. I'm not entirely sure if you can solo him or not though.

I soloed him at 60 as RDM/BLM, and duoed/trioed him many times before that from about 56 on. I had to watch him die about 11, 12 times before I got the earring. Have fun.

While solo don't be worried about Mystic. Be worried about adds. One of the times I soloed him, I died, but not to Mystic. Got two easy prey gob adds, had to spend more MP than planned on sleeping them over and over, I killed Mystic with about 200hp and 15mp left and right then Refresh wore off and Convert was not up and the gobs woke up. So I semi-panicked and ran to the zone and died on the way to about three cockatrices and the gobs. No earring either. XD

So you can solo it at 60 but it's safer to bring a melee friend and just clear the room while waiting. On your own, you kill gobs and cockatrices too slowly to insure you're ready to go when Mystic pops, and he's not dependent on placeholders getting killed anyways.

It might be possible for one of my pld pals to help me out in the duo regard. I'm itching to try out that earring :)

Sorry can't say what level need. As 72 mnk I simply charged him... a couple of asuran fist and he was dead. My punch was doing 110s so his defence was pretty weak. He pops on time base and you do NOT need to kill gobs. He doesn't have a place holder.

Wierd. We got 100% drop on earings... maybe we were lucky. 2 out of 2 so far. Going for the 3rd soon.

Whoo! I finally got a chance at Mysticmaker!

After losing the first spawn to a 75MNK/WAR (o_O) I camped the pop spot for 2 hours (with no help, thanks to a PLD 'friend' who warped out of there the moment I went in -_-). The pop was in the middle of a group of gobs, but I was able to claim it with no linkage ^^

As a reference, all the enemies in the vicinity were 30EXP Easy Preys, so I didn't want to risk death by linkage as some of you mentioned >>;

The battle itself was pretty damn fun. He did use ancient magic, but I interrupted his cast the first time with a normal sword hit. The second time, I wasn't so lucky ._. I Flat-Bladed him in the middle of his cast, but failed to interrupt and got owned for about 200 Dmg.

My MP pool held up reasonably well, as Aspir really didn't contribute much to MP regen. I Chainspelled when he used Manafont, and I believe this tactic is what kept me alive. Stoneskin dropped about 5 times within his -ga II casting frenzy.

After his 2hr wore off, it was a pretty routine battle. Once my MP ran out, I stoneskined/converted when I felt safe, and Cure IV'ed to max HP. He died shortly thereafter.

As a reward, I ended up with 6k, a Gob Mask, a Gob Armor, a Thunder III, and this:

You can solo Mysticmaker at level 64 but you have to watch out for aggro's. When I fought him at level 64, I was aggro'd by another goblin that I took care of, and then a cockatrice that I had to deal with. Despite all of this, I still took Mysticmaker down but no earring for my troubles. Paralyze is your best friend- when he uses Manafont and tries to cast ancient magics, etc, he'll almost always become paralyzed (or so it would seem). Don't forget to Aspir!

I didn't fight him til about 65, but I also always use my level 15 thief sub on him, even if you don't get the earring you get some nice easy gil ^^.

I soloed him at 63. However, I didn't have to worry about links since there was a DRG there farming Cockratices.
