Question,
where in Den of Rancor do you find the million eyes... perhaps roughly which entrance?
i went in via yhoator yesterday and could'nt find the spot with million eyes ... we then left frustrated, but somehow i'm guessing its the zone thru the paintbrush door at ugglapeigh ... can someone enlighten ?

yes, your fears are true.

You need a paintbrush.

Once you enter from the paintbrush door, travel south and you'll eventually hit the "Million Eyes" mobs.

How long do the drops take to get?

Ones in rancor den take aaages it seems. It's that randomness thing again though. One time it could be 20 mins, another time it could be over an hour. -_-;

Ya, the eyes are rare drops... they can drop from the 1st kill, till hours of killing and no drop ...
though i was hoping the 1 in den of rancor would drop easier since its a very high level mob ... i guess not ; ;

hehe i went and hunted them all the last 2 days, got ifrits quick, sea grotto (1 of them) quick, and king's tomb quick, other one in sea grotta i didnt feel like staying =/ den of rancor i got owned :sweat:

Make SURE you have a 90+ alchemist with Image Support combine them on Lightsday. Do NOT screw around with the combine. It's an 84 "trivial" combine.

I know it sounds like a given but out of the 20ish clusters I've done (at 91.x Alchemy) I did fail one and lost all 5 eyes even with support on Lightsday. Yes, it really sucked. I also HQ'd 3 or so combines and theres no cluster +1 or anything its the same item :sweat:

don't fuck around with the ones in Den of Rancor.

Those are 75+ eyes and are not cool.

They can Firaga 3, Fire 4, Flare etc.....

I would recommend a full pt lvl 70 to do it.


Oh, and if you have never fought hakutaku before.... you're in for a big surprise.

Yes, I know some people who have had their synths fail, and EVERY time it fails, all eyes are lost.

I have never heard of a fail that did not lose every eye.

I went to a 100+2 Alchemist and even then, I made him wait until Lightsday to craft them.

This synth is not to be taken lightly.
