Lvl 17/8 brd question

Alright... blah blah blah to armor / weapon
i am taru taru, brd / rdm and have 21 base chr and +10 chr
HQ lvl 14 chr rings +4 chr
+3 chr head gear
+3 neck bird whistle

does that sound good? is there any armor i am missing?

I might get a signa by camping / buying... wise choice?

I lved my mithra BRD to 29 using that same +CHR gear. I didn't have a ton of resists, and I don't think there's much else, unless you get the signa. If you can get the signa, why not? less resists = good:biggrin:

hhmm... signa though is -5 vit, that will = one dead brd, the good things about it +8 chr make up for that?

well im level 16 bard I refuse to level until i have the signa ive been working my butt off this week and im about 70k short of it right now, of course its worth it, bards are not mantto take hits

i didnt get signa til i was about 68 and i was a damn good bard.

knowing what songs to play when and not being lazy is worth 100 signa's. at high levels youll be +70 CHR, on top of almost 70 base CHR. 1 more CHR than Kard + elegant shield won't matter.

Technically it's 2 more CHR than Kard (5) + Elegant Shield (1), but regardless, unless you're about to go out fighting HNMs - which is a consideration at level 70 but not at level 17 - you don't ever need more than +30 or so for exp enemies. And until your 50's you can't really even get +30, but luckily the enemies are very considerate about letting your songs land on them with only +15 to +20.

I bought the signa with BCNM proceeds at level 40. I tried it in BCNM and wasn't wowed by the success rate difference (I frankly couldn't notice a difference at all between +20 and +26), and I didn't like the -5 VIT. In exp parties, there was some small improvement for a while, but once that Jester's Cape +1 rolled around and I was rolling in +CHR ... well. At that point I couldn't see any difference between success rate with and without the signa. So onto the AH it went at level 56, and I bought a Light Staff with the proceeds, which I find much more useful (and attractive).

Honestly, I would've been totally fine not having the signa for that 40-56 period either. It was an improvement but only a small one. Fighting things appropriate for your level will do far more for your success rate than getting +8 CHR at that point.

I will only consider buying another signa when HNM time comes for me (at 59, that's a while off yet). Until then, I have absolutely no need for more than +30 or so CHR, so once I got that I've filled up my slots with more useful stuff, like +skill and +MP.
