Square-enix has been keeping quite a low profile for an expansion that would be released in a few months time. I hope in any case that they won't forget adding spells for red mages.
Stronger enfeebling spells that are unique to red mages only since we're rank A on enfeebling only.
- Maybe Dia 3? or something new and exciting.
-Refreshra would be a great addition.
-Hastega too, perhaps for white mages too.
But still, it gettings really dull casting refresh/haste non stop for all party members, having a long casting time, long recaste time and lasts for around 1 min 30 secs as a redmage.
-Gravity II would be a great upgrade to lower a monster's evasion more.
Imho, these spells should have been in the game, red mage non- stop buffing after 48 due to the lack of refresh/haste grp buff spells and their absence of a unique set of enfeebling spells from 50-75 was a mistake in the first place. We've already been gimped with no regen II, much weaker elemental spells and no gate type spells.
-Enchanting spells should be improved too, rdm melee after 50 is just too miserable. At lower lvl, you get to have lots of fun skill chaining and mbing, doing decent damage for both. But after 48, your melee is so useless, everyone would want you to just sit back and cast spells, buffs that is and occasional diaII that whms have too, which is actually very boring. Perhaps its just me, i should be playing a drk knight if i love casting and meleeing so much, but i don't wanna play another evil knight class again like everquest (shadowknights were underpowered from kunark and thereafter, Epic, Innoruuk's Curse, was really cool though)
Just my 2 cents, i hope square-enix is really keeping a big surprise for us. Expanding the hunting areas with new monsters, quests, missions, stories isn't enough to extend the lifeline of this game that much, considering the fact that WoW and EQ2 are going gold in around half a yr's time. Blizzard has been famous for delaying its game releases (starcraft:ghost) yes, but then again, it would be silly to launch too long after EQ2( which imho, is much better) unless they're gonna do something crazy like match its graphic standards in a way or add real voice for all NPCS like what EQ2 did.
I'm still confused what square enix is doing in hosting EQ2 for SoE in japan besides wanting to take a piece of their pie. Are they giving up on FFXI? Perhaps only PC players. Most ps2 users would definately stay for ffxi since it would still be the best mmorpg for the console for a very long time. If this really happens, it'll be sad that they're not putting up a fight against SoE and Blizzard in the PC mmorpg gaming industry. This economic "Anti-competitive behaviour" would only result in us customers being worse off in the way that less resources would be allocated to the improvement ofFFXI (lower quality than a competitive firm would). Its great that they're spending most of their revenue earned from FFX-2 and FFXI on incoming game releases like FFXII and FF7:advent children for psp. These would be enjoyable games indubitably, but you're only gonna be spending 2-3 weeks on it, whereas in FFXI, you'd be spending months or even years.
I'm tired of hopping between mmorpgs just because the current one fails to keep up with the other and all my effort goes down the drain when i quit. Yeah, you can just turn a blind eye on all other better mmorpgs, but if you start to believe that the company in charge of your online game has decided to raise its white flag to a share of its market power(PC online gamers in this case), it kinda puts a damp on your faith in this game, if it is gonna last and be given the proper attention it requires.
p.s, these are just assumptions based on assumptions, they might not be totally or partially true. But that doesn't mean that its not a possible senario until S-E shows us the quality of the good we desire, a good enough reason (besides the fact that we have friends here, have invested too much effort here and stuff) to ignore the alternative of EQ2 and WoW.
Enough ranting,
