hmm thought brd was gonna be inexpensive til u reach higher levels
those +2 instrumetn cost...
Siren Flute
Ebony harp +1 = 200k+
Crumhorn +1 = 200k+
and the amour piece
Wind Torque = 800k-1.5mil!! worth it??
hi brd let me know..
What is the advantage of having the +7 wind song wind torque?
most dont even use the ebony harp +1 = paen +1 status
Sorry but bard is the last job that needs to be crying over prices of items. You don't really need the torque but just buy the instruments at least okay.

Ebony Harp +1 presumably offers 2 additional HP regen per tick, meaning Paeon IV can do up to 7 HP/tick and Paeon III can do up to 6 HP/tick. Which is nice and all, but agreed, paeon doesn't get much use by that level. May be worthwhile for Maat however, but a non-HQ version would give 1 additional HP regen per tick (so 6 and 5 HP/tick respectively) and costs a fraction of the price.
Crumhorn +1 offers 10 additional elemental defense with the carol in question. Haven't tested with a non-HQ, but again, the non-HQ is a LOT cheaper. Compared to the elemental defense from bar-element-ra spells, carols aren't as impressive a boost. However, there are no bar-ra spells for light and dark, so ...
They're worth having, but not necessarily worth the price. (I can't see Cythara Anglica +1 as being worth having at all.)
As for the Wind Torque, considering its price on your server (it's only ~300K on mine) you may want to get some friends/LS together to do one of the BC60 fights that drops it (such as Sacrificial Chamber), with the understanding that you get to keep the torque (though you may need to agree to give up on all the other drops from the round of BC60's).

I prefer having the Star Necklace as my neck piece anyway. I may get the torque if I have money to spend, but I don't think you can beat the +3CHR 15hp->15mp the necklace gives you.

Wind Torque is gonna increase the effectiveness of your song by a few points but also improve your song power by alot since 7 Wind skill is the same has two level in skill power. Its expensive and rare. On my server, its almost never for sell and cost 500-600k.
IMO, its much better than a Star Necklace.

I use my ebony harp+1 all the time. Its excellent when farming or trying to stay alive with multiple mobs. The crumhorn is kinda iffy, thats probably not worth it really. Wind torque is by far the best neck piece a brd can use!!! Its sure pricey though...its like the vermillion cloak for brds but way more useful.

My personal favorite item that I think is the most usefull for me is my Traversiere +1. Its probably the instrument that will have the biggest effect on your PT effictiveness. There are other nice items but if I had to chose one, it would probably be that.

Yes, the Traversiere +1 is an excellent instrument, and it's also fairly cheap as far as +1 items go.
Crumhorn +1 = 200k+
As for the Crumhorn +1...Carols are useful for Avatar battles and certain BCNM fights, but that's about it. If you're on a tight budget, I would recommend spending your money elsewhere.

I've heard nothing but great things about the Wind Torque. In fact, I just recently started crafting again, just so I can earn enough money to buy one. I'm hoping to get my Torque before I hit the level 75 cap. /sigh
Not to get off topic but a level 70 galka bard/white mage. Damn I've got to say that I'm impressed for whatever it's worth.

Any race can easily excel at BRD, really. CHR differences between the races isn't an issue -- there's so much +CHR gear out there it's not even funny.
I haven't found WHM to be too difficult to raise, either. Galkas have fairly high MND to begin with, plus I've gotten my hands on some very good +MP equipment.

I know a lot of high level Galka bards, some of them are *very* good and all of them have 150-200 MP really. Any race can pull off a bard well.
