Hi, I am Bre from the Diabolos server and i am going to start red mage.
I chose the job for 2 reasons... Awsome AF armor and the variety of spells you can use.
Now to the point.
Money is hardly an issue. I have 2 astral rings in mog and such.
What kind of quip should I buy?
What should i do in a PT?
And a pre-thank you

In a PT you should act as support. This means getting your enfeebles on the monster, (Slow, Paralyze, Dia, Gravity, Blind, etc.) helping the WHM with healing, bursting on Skillchains if you have the time, and later in the game, Dispelling, Refreshing, and perhaps Hasting. RDM can be a very busy job at times.
I notice you're a Taru. That means you should focus your gear more on INT/MND than MP. You should try to get your MP and HP as close as possible to each other for Convert purposes of course, but any MP over your total HP is a waste for a RDM. Mainly focus on MND equip, as Tarus don't have much of it, yet they have tons of INT. In the earlier levels a WHM sub will help with your MND issues, although you may change to the more standard BLM sub later if you wish.

Me personally with all my buddys a drk and mnk and war i started my rdm healing i didnt like it bc i was a rdm not a whm but my healing magic capped out quick lol it was cool to be able to fight and heal at the same time at low levels we could now at 25 i have a blm sub and i enfeeble and back up heal depending on what we are fighting last in qufim i didnt even engage in the battles with parties when we fought crabs bc i wasnt doing any damage but other monster i would with a longsword and enthunder i was doing 25 damage +8 additional from enthunder which wasnt a Drk but it wasnt bad either. I spent to much money on the barspells and i dont think they are needed that much not that u should buy them but wait bc $$$ is def an issure with a Rdm bc of the weapon and armor and spells but i love being a rdm

What's RDM job pre-41?
When making parties, I try to aim for RDM (me) BLM WHM Tank DamgeDealer Random(dependant on Tank and DD). WHM normally takes care of Paralyze and sometimes Slow (Wanting to keep enfeebling cap and also nothing to do since either the PLD needs to cure to get hate at start of fight or NIN has shadows for the first 6 hits). BLM casts bio so I really see no point in cast dia (and WHM sometimes takes care of dia too). Then BLM wants to cast Blind to cap enfeebling. That leaves me with nothing but Gravity. Since I don't have any good nukes yet (22 atm) I'm stuck with either nuking for a huge 20 damage, or meleeing with en-spell. Meleeing is obviously more mana-friendly, but it still isn't good damage. But then I just feel like I'm completely gimping the party. I could easily be replaced with any other job and be out-damaged. I could be main healer, but I really did not like WHM when leveling it. I guess I'll just have to suck it up and be main healer until 41 when I actually feel useful.

This was a great post that I read from another site on the red mage. It's kinda opinionated, but tons of good stuff. It has helped me out plenty.

Seriously though. I could not finish you pharagraph because of the abscence of a period and comma. Its important to structure you sentences so that they are readable at least. Sometimes it is more important than grammer and spelling.
Anyways. Good luck to you!
