Right, just started blacksmithing today, got to level 9 and ive spent quite a bit just doing that. Well.. i was wondering how far (yeah its another one of those threads) i could get with 100k following the sticky guide up there somewhere.
If i cant get far with that at all, how about 250k?
Also what stage of blacksmithing will i be able to make any semi-decent profit?

I got to Lv15 on about 65k.
I guess 100k will get you to about Lv18.

You can easily get to 15 in less then 65k... just skill up on tin ores from 10-15 and always use advanced imagery support. You should make a bit of profit from making iron ingots at level 15+ as the guide says but if you fail the synth it will cost you a bit.
600x3 (iron ore) + 200 (fire crystal) = 2000
Iron ingot sells for around 2600-3000 on its own and about 33k a stack so you can make about 10k profit or so. At least on odin

Blacksmithing goes hand in hand with mining, and thats pretty much why im using it.

That seems like a good way to make cash but i wanna raise my skill up a bit, so far ive used yes about 65k id say and im level 15 now. If i throw another 500k on the fire what do you reckon i could get it it? Have i got a shot at 40+?

Also, what other guilds do you guys suggest to go with smithing?
I was thinking leathercraft and woodworking, or goldsmithing instead of woodworking if i can make enough money.

The cheapest support skill for blacksmithing that is of any use is woodworking. w00d is cheap and easy to raise, and it facilitates the manufacture of various axes and scythes(and other crap). It is disproprotionately represented among the secondary skills required for guild-test items(to get to your next guild rank).

Blacksmithing without this skill is a pain in the arse. Leather is also a good secondary. You can do without the others until you get past 60 blacksmithing . . . then you'll want them all, really.

what about 540k? how far will i get from level 16?
I'd hate to blow over half a mil just to see my skill hit 25.
