I have a wireless D-Link router and a D-Link AP (900ap+), I hooked the access point up to my PS2 and router to my computer, and had somebody set it up for me, now it's not working and I can't get online. Any help?

Has the internet worked for the PC or PS2 since being hooked up with a router?

Make sure the router is receiving from the Access Point still. I'm not sure exactly of the problem you are having but a quick first try I suggest is unplug the router's power source give it 15 seconds and plug it in again. See if that corrects the problem.

More detail about the problem would help to give a better suggestion though. If you are experiencing a sequential disconnect and reconnect (making a clean connection then 5 min. later it disconnects, then get a connection again and 5 min. later it disconnects), then I suggest checking the two's channels they are on and possibly changing them if another wireless network is close by and using the same channel (My house has 3 distint wireless networks a wireless security system, wireless fire alarm system, and my wireless network so I had to make sure that my channel wasn't on one that those other two were using).

The only other obvious thing I can think of that could be an easy mistake is make sure the channel that the AP and the router are using ARE the same channel, it won't work right if the router is on channel 11 and the AP is on channel 6.

Macht is right. Make sure your router (should be controlled by your PC) is broadcasting on a distict channel and that your Wireless Adaptor (if possible) is set to receive on that channel. If you've got wireless home phones, these will also sometimes interfere with wireless internet setups (though usually you can't keep the home phones on a specific channel), so keep these away from the PS2 and the PC.

If someone else set up the Router for you, try and get ahold of them and see what, if anything, they did. Sometimes Playonline simply won't connect at random (this happens to me alot on my wireless connection, despite any settings). Playonline shows the ports you must open here PlayOnline Router Settings (http://www.playonline.com/ff11us/beginners/win/) (scroll all the way down).

I'm not able to play on my wireless-connected PC the majority of the time due to connection issues, so I know your pain. Good luck.
