Somebody HEELLPP!!!

I just acquired the game and did all the setups and registrations. But right after I chose my character and I was designated to a "world" the screen turns black while music still plays. Then after a minute the error message "The connection was lost" shows up. I tried everything and nothing works, my connection is fine but I am running on a router connected to another router. Does anyone know what's going on? PLEASE HELP, IM RUNNING OUT OF OPTIONS!!!

I think maybe you should try re-installing your game. I had the same problem, un-installed, then re-installed it and it seemed to work ok. Make sure that everything is plugged in, etc. is all i can give for advice. Hope i've been some sort of help

I had similar problem. When I was creating new char in "advanced mode" my screen turned all black and all i could hear was music. I reinstalled game - without any success. Luckily I could choose "simplified character creation" in FFXI config menu, and my problem was solved.
Later I downloaded newest graphic card drivers, and then all runned smoothly - my screed didnt turned black anymore, and I could see "advanced char creation" movies.
If u have problems with connection, then I dont know how to help u. Im using broadband modem on my PC and everything is fine.
