For some odd reason, i'm having difficulties getting FFXI to recognize my gamepad. I'm using the PS-PC converter III. I used it when I used to play 3 or 4 months ago and it worked perfectly. Never had a problem with it. It doesn't detect any of the button presses or stick movements. I can't test it or anything. However, when I go into control panel under windows, it reads it just fine. It detects everything. It's just in the FFXI config where it fails to read. I'm using a PS2 controller by the way. Did a recent patch screw this up while I was gone? Thanks for the help guys.

EDIT: Here's any update. The Playonline config reads the controller just fine. I just can't get the FFXI config to read it. Isn't that odd?:o

I'm running a PS2 to USB converter jsut fine. Have you installed your converters drivers? When I don't install the drivers for the converter I have trouble getting it to work correctly.

Hmm, mine is just a plug and play device. I open it up in the dxdiag and the direct input detects it just fine. This is really making me mad. I don't know what it could be. Nobody else has this problem?

Mine is plug and play too, but I need to install the drivers for it to work right. If your converter is the same as mine I can upload the drivers to a server to see if it helps.

If you have one like that I'll upload the drivers for you.

Ok, sorry. I give all of you permission to slap the crap out of me. It took me this long to figure out that it was reading the Joystick instead of the PS converter. For some odd reason, I can't have the joystick plugged into any USB ports or it reads that instead of the controller.

Thanks for helping me out JU571N. :)
