job question

Im a little confused...still a new kid, but theoretically couldnt you max out all of the jobs...even though you can only have one selected for your main or sub? I've heard a few answers but i figured id get the right answer here.

the only drawback would be that your stuck with one race for all of the differant jobs right? Do a lot of people do it or is it better to just make seperate chrs for each class you make?

depends on if you're a complete statwhore or not. certain races are obviously more fit for certain jobs, but that doesn't mean you can't level a taru MNK to 75 if you wanted to. Also remember that certain jobs are more useful with certain subs, and when it comes to jack-of-all-trade jobs like WAR you're required to keep a lot of weapons skilled up as well as have viable subs.

If you have the time, and want the "best of everything possible" make a char for each job you want to make. Otherwise I wouldn't bother.

right now im thinking ill just have 2 chrs...my elvann for all the melee classes and a taru for all the mag classes

then you got the ppl like me that don't like to divide stats...
wanna play an elvaan mage? just buy astrals... but i honestly see no point for splitting stats

well the stats would be fine if i...for example...had a taru for all the mag classes...right? then i could have my melee chr and mag chr?
