Changing windows media player to buffer for 45 seconds then playing it makes it a very very long play with buffer times, but you get nice clean clips of what is going on.. working on a way to capture the stream..
------vvv------START DOWNLOAD MMS 80--------------
Connecting to square.radix.accelia.net : 80......
Connect to server success

Yhea, so they're having server problems obviously...

Just some visuals of the new areas. Also check out the main site for it, they have new information like some new npcs and info on "the wasting" of areas and mythology.. definately nice... just hoping on some more high level leveling areas and mid-level content (zilart isn't meant for mid-levels, maybe somethign as cool and challanging, but can be done in 40-60 range to distract from those af and genkai headaches ><;;)

Tried two stream capture programs, both are telling me there is an error on their end of the server giving bad packets, which seem to be screwing up windows media buffering (I guess it doesn't know when to stop and start for a data sequence)... kinda sounds like it's backuping up with udp protocoll... wierd anway. Aftger a day or so things may calm down/there will be official mirrors for it. It's good, but it's not something to really get hyped over (the website shows a lot more info and spoilers). I'll keep the stream ripper running overnight, see if it can't finnaly snag it

Check out new info, little tidbits. So we're likely to get simultaneous release accross all platforms and both NA and JP (and EU comming soon I assume). Plus we're getting cultural events in teh comming months. July 4 fireworks? Pld and whm can't wear white AF after labor day? who knows!

I set my buffer rate to 60 seconds, saw it in chunks also. Here is what I was wondering. Did anyone get a good view of the characters there were standing on that bridge when the camera swept through the canyon, just wondering if there might have been somthing special going on there. Also this might be cause Im really sleepy but when it showed those really fast snippets of ppl fighting I could have sworn I saw Ifrit wearing PLD AF. I know I know, but as soon as I can stream it correctly I will try to capture it and try to get a good look at those 2 things.

IGN PC (http://pc.ign.com/articles/513/513185p1.html) also took a first look at the upcoming expansion pack:
Chains of Promathia takes place in a new world that is just on the edge of the land in Final Fantasy XI Where Vana'diel is looked over by Altana, who is the Goddess of the Dawn, there are rumors of another God, Promathia the God of Twilight. In a self-imposed prison, Promatia has bound himself with chains. By digging into the story of Promathia, gamers will get closer to understanding the birth of Vana'diel itself.
Along the way, players will encounter new lands. Two of these were revealed to be Movalpolos and the Tavnazian Archipelago. Movalpolos is an underground city that is run by a tribe of goblins who are known as the Moblins. The Moblins are constantly digging deeper and deeper into the surface of Vana'diel, making their actual city difficult to find. While some of the Moblins retain a connection to the surface world for trade, most of them have secluded themselves in the depths. This makes any knowledge of Movalpolos hard to come by, even among other goblins.
The other land is the Tavnazian Archipelago which is just off the coast of Quon. Once, this archipelago was a peninsula, but a secret weapon of the beastmen set it free from the mainland and ruined the land's capital in the process. The beastmen still have control of the archipelago and most people believe that none of the original inhabitants remain.
A new problem in Chains of Promathia is an encroaching emptiness that is beginning to eat away at Vana'diel. This could be the unraveling of Vana'diel itself or the start of something new. Perhaps an entirely new world is taking shape.
Gamers will have a chance to unravel this mystery when Chains of Promathia becomes available this fall. Soon, the world of Final Fantasy XI will become bigger and that's just the tip of the iceberg. Square Enix has also announced that Europe will be joining Vana'diel before the year is out. This whole massively multiplayer thing is really beginning to live up to its name.

Hmmm,
I went to E3 today and went to S-E's movie presentation (the scheduled one which is limited attendance) and unfortunetly there wasn't too much on FFXI: Chains of Promethia (more on FFXII, Kingdom of Hearts II and FFVII: Advent Children).
They showed some nice scenery, a summon of Ramah, a statue of Promethia in chains (i think), also some other area that was very dark and looked like a graveyard.
I'll try to find more info if I can. :(
Edit: The new info on playonline is basically all they showed today.

WMP is a real bitch at direct link streaming.
Copy the url of the stream - > go to File - > Open URL -> paste the URL and click OK. It should work.

I set my buffer rate to 20 and it worked after a while.
The fleet of airships was tres cool! My favorite part was the flashes of the different characters, such as the Dark Paladin as I like to call it, and the Enigmatic Boy looked pretty pimp also.
Final Fantasy XI is already huge. With this new expansion, the world will be enormous. :)

I see a female monster right after the Elvaan and before the Hume AA. The Arch Duke is after the AA. The Monster appears briefly and looks to me like its being summoned or its a cut-scene.

FFXI's and FFXI's worlds are way more similar then one. For example, the Time period of both worlds is based on the Middle Ages. Also, style of dress and technology were similar. So some senery is bound to be the same/similar. And... of course... would it be a Final Fantasy without some similarites between past games?

Alot of games were Middle Age based, more than just these FFs. I mean, just looking, those two areas are very similar looking. Maybe its just me falling back on my "SE is running out of ideas". Although, the FFXII trailor was pretty good...emotional.
