Avenger's Earring gives counter

Hello nice pld's. It was recently brought up in the bst boards that simply having an eq that said "enhances beast killer ability" such as the koneing shield, will give the player that ability reguardless of the subjob or job that he is using.

Someone also pointed out that a pld/war that was wearing avenger's earrings with no monk sub, was counterattacking.

I am just wondering if anyone has tried such equipment and does it really do that?

I'd then imagine that you can also wear some of the Rare Ex equipment (shizame earrings (sorry wrong spelling) that enhances Dual wield effect to give you dual wield. But I don't know for sure cause I've never seen this happen yet. Has anyone out there tried this stuff?

I figured that pld/war would probably be the people to know since it'd be nice if you can counter attack to add onto your parry/shield stuff.
