Completed mine, just thought I offer some impression and experience I got.

First I usually got my Testimony on Darksteel Quadav and Orc Protector.

Now about Maat, he's tough. He's a hybrid of monk and your job. Some say he's has the same stat as you but he definately hit me a lot harder so not sure if it was true. Also it was near impossible to beat him at LV 66, so I would wait till you're LV 70. He's able to do the following

Flash
Shield Bash
Banish III - does about 200-300 dmg
Invincible
Asuran Fist
(another WS I can't remember)

I'd recommend getting the following medicine

Hi-potion - it's fast acting and recovers 100hp, you can spam these if you can afford it (I used about 10)
Vile Elixer - it's a little slow but it recovers 1/4 of your MP and HP, if you can afford it get Vile Elixer +1 as well, these are Rare items so you can only have one
Yagudo Drink - recover 120 mp over 3 min, bring two
Icarus Wing - Instant 100% TP, can use only once
Fish Mithakabob - switch with Chiefkabob if you feel like it
Instand Warp Scroll - Maat will give you one if you defeat him, but if you have one in your Mog house you'll have to walk back from Zitah

I found other medicines (x-potion, Hi-Ether, etc) to take too long to act, so these are the ones I used and would recommend

Now the strategies, you'll go in as Pld with no subjobs, so things like defender and berserk are gone. When you go in, cast Protect and Shell on yourself as any buffs will be gone. After your MP recovered would be the time to use Icarus wing and Yagudo drink. SAVE YOUR INVINCIBLE FOR LAST. At first Maat will be repeating Flash/Shield Bash/Banish III. Time your Flash and Cure IV correctly and use Vorpal Blade whenever you have 100 TP. Also use Shield bash to stop him from casting Banish III. Soon he will use Invincible, I'd suggest you unlock and run away from him. When you get his HP down to 1/4 he get's mad and start spamming Asuran Fist, this is when you use your Invincible as there's no way you can weather this with Cure IV. Keep hitting him and do Vorpal on him until he's defeated.

Now here's what I heard that I couldn't verify, but supposidly you will instantly win if you do 3 WS during the fight. The fight did end the instant I hit him with 3rd Vorpal but his HP was already low at that point. I wouldn't bet on

with the new TP fix update, will he still spam asuran?

Hmm I will being the Maat fight tonite. I have studied a few other people's Logs and also talked to a couple people in game about the fight:

A few recommendations that I will do differently to Maegvs description:

I am going to use a meat kabob instead of a fishkabob; this is because I am also going to wear the latent effect gear (i call it the crab gear) and also some of the darksteel gear which gives dmg reduction.

Maat is very easy to hit so Vorpal is so the way to go. I am going to go in, Protect and Shell and then Oppo Oppo to 100%. Then I will start fight and will of course save bashes for Banish III. I am going to save my icarus wing & invincible until he starts doing Asuaran fists as that is when I really need to kill him quick.

Lastly, he will span asuaran fists. A fellow PLD on bismark last night just defeated him, and she said she got 7 asuran fists with only the 1st one hitting her before she did invincible.

Some people say to use 2HS. Not quite sure if it is the way to go but accuracy isn't an issue.

Concerning the 3 WS: You could Oppo-Oppo to 100%, then do Icarus Wing, then it would just take some swings to get the 3rd final one. I think some of the other PLDs on this forums have done this and they didn't mention an early win. Maybe they could verify what exactly they did.

I will try to post my log of the battle for other PLDs to critique it.

Grats on winning Maegvs

yes, I won two days after the patch, it was painful not to have TP after Vorpal Blade. He still spammed Asuran Fist, I think it's just a script.

I fought maat without him using any WSs or me using my 2hr.
Items:
2 pear milks (hp regen)
2 yagudo drinks (MP regen)
1 meat chiefkabob
3 Muslum (looks like beer, give a really quick 25mp)
2 hi- ethers
6 hi- potions
1 icarus wing
My equip was general lvl up PT things

Strat:
I started by casting Pro IV and Shell III
ate my kabob, then rested.

After that I ran up to maat and did flash right away. After flash I used a yagudo drink and a pear milk.

working my way to the first 100% TP i used a bunch of cure 3s and ate 2 beers.

Then i used vorpal blade.

I was running low on MP so i used my second set of drinks and used a hi-ether and my last beer.

After the fight went on a little longer, he used invin. I took this time to eat all my hi-potions and whatever left of the MP boosters.

After his invin wore off I used another vorpal.

Then used an icarus wing, did another WS and he gave up.

I had about 500HP and 150 MP left.

Hmmm wondering if maat was changed recently cause I fought him yesterday and he wasn't that bad at all. I went in with PIII and Shell, 10 hi potions, vile elixir, 2 yagudo drink, an icarus wing, 4 sleep potions and opo opo necklace and I ate a meat mithkabob. And I made a boneheaded mistake during fight ^^.

I went in and used opo opo necklace and the sleep potions, went in and ws him, icarus wing and ws again. So he managed to Banish 3 me which kinda hurt and a then scored critical hit then stopped my cure with "maat bash" and hit me again, he got me down to 300 hp fast and he was down to about half health at this time, so I said hmm maybe I should invinc now and cure myself and spam potions later so I go to use invincible and thats when I realize my mistake, I still had to wait a hour on Invinicble refresh, so during this period of realization my hp is now down to 150, I start spamming potions then I succeed in getting my cures off, btw maat may hit hard but hes rather slow and its pretty easy to time cures as long as he doesn't interrupt you with shield bash. So I spammed a couple more potions, and then when he was down to about 10% he ended fight while i was casting a Cure IV. He doesn't always use Asuran as for my fight he only used one ws when he got low and it was Howling Fist for 200 dmg, i've heard on others he used spinning kick and other ws as well. So it didn't end when I ws him 3 times it just ended when I guess I took enough dmg from him and survived, he didn't spam any ws, just the one he used so invincible is not even needed for this fight. In fact it may be detrimental to use invincible if the fight ends when you take enough dmg since you reduce dmg taken to 0 for 30 seconds, it may just have the fight go on longer and give him more tp from when you hit him, may force to be a deathmatch.

Maat doesn't always use Ausran fist. If you take him down to less than 20% fast enough, he will not have a chance to use ausran fist. The first time I faught him, I took too long, it resulted time out and he was at 30% health. He did use Ausran fist before he kicked me out (I didn't die so I called it a tie).

The 2nd time I faught him, I spent 6 minutes 28 seconds. He didn't give up after 3 ws, you actually have to take him to low health. I used meat mithkabob, icarus wing, 8 hi-potion, yagudo drink, vampire juice (hp/mp regen), vile elixir and vile elixir+1. Vile elixir +1 was a waste since I used it and he sent me out. But whatever it takes to win is what matters. I didn't use my invincible. I found it the best to spam your hi-potion during his invinible since you can't hit him anyways. If you spam your hi-potion too much, you lose the chance you can hit him. He didn't use any ws on me the 2nd time only lots of banish3 and maat bash. I only used protect3 and shell since I am too cheap to buy protect4 and shell3. My gear was pretty much typical lvl 69 pld gear with general shield and espadon+1.
