What Famitsu says:
- The new add-on disc for FFXI will be released this Fall (in Japan, at least, though I think localisation is happening simultaneously).
- The story will not connect with Zilart directly.
- You can install Promathia without Zilart.
- If you have experienced Zilart, you'll get more out of Promathia.
- Promathia introduces a number of new modes of transport. Pictured in the new issue of Famitsu is a boat, as well as airborne transport.
- 40 or more new areas will be included.
- No plans for more additional jobs.
- No plans to increase the level or skills.
- The world map will become complete with this add-on.
What I say:
I hope they add some new monsters... getting sick of fighting the same old stuff. Not the paltry amount they added in Zilart, but a big, huge amount, please.

It seems like theyre going to have to add more monster types, since theyre making new areas and probably a handful of quests/missions for promathia storyline. The areas and quests alone doesn't seem expansion worthy, they better be adding something decent.

They need to add new areas or replacement areas to the already over populated areas. They keep adding new places for high levels....only...They need to add some new jobs or abilites to make this expansion worthy to get otherwise people wont buy it (doh).

There needs to be some more job abilities and job traits, and I don't understand how the story has nothing to do with Zilart, but if you've played Zilart you'll get more from it

so.... they didn't add korolloka tunnel, the two jungles, east and west altepa, and a bunch of other places? Before the expansion at some levels there were very very few places to level, so I have no clue what you're talking about.

Seen the amount of worms to fight in Korolloka lately? About 8-10 no? Well if 3 PT's are there that area is packed and everyone will be camping those worms till one pops. Seen Valk? Of course you could camp out anywhere, trees, other trees, entrance, selbina entrance, all of the beaches, and other places..but if you haven't noticed they all have PT's in them. Outside Kazham..it's packed, seen Batallia leveling lately? LOL ....that's pathetic.
Now, I wasn't complaining about Altepa...there is plenty of places to camp and level there. All I was saying was that there needs to be more low leveling spots becuase of the massive amounts of PT's. Then maybe the PT's will spread out a little bit and it wont be such an ass to level.
If the expansion does nothing new I will officially quit the game.

While it may discourage some that so far there's no announcement for new jobs, I hope it means that the dev's will take a serious and long look at the jobs that already exist and put all they're energy into that.
The higher level melee levels need to be looked into it seems.

they will add the same looking monster as the others , but just give it a different name, and a new color. -_-

Probably. I wouldnt actually mind fighting crabs the entire game, if they added some variety. As in they were in different colors and made bigger/meaner looking the higher level they were.

According to 1 up, there would be areas that are 3d. The current areas we have, are basically limited to forward, backwards, left right, not really any hills or things like that. You can kind of argue that altepa has some sand dunes, but the maps are still very linear. 1up also mentioned no new abilities, but many new areas. I'm pretty excited that this game would add some non-linear maps in the game, but it would be quite nice if they did add new monsters, especially good exp monsters from lvl 50+ because I think we're all sick of crabs.
Wonder what new NMs and items they will add

There are plenty of places to level at and you dont have to fight crabs to level, it's just that people are scared to level on anything with hard weapon skills (spiders) Or look for new zones to level. (Zitah fucking owns)
People are scared to experiment in this game and it sucks.
Kiyosuki
04-27-2004, 08:31 PM
Its just that most of the experimentation was done prior to the majority of english speaking player's entering. I'm one of those that started with the NA release, and its kind of understandable.
I do wish sometimes we had more customization options though. It may be a team game which is cool, but even stupid little things like your look and accessories to give yourself some kind of individuality would be nice. Weither its a team game or not, thats nice to have in an mmorpg.
If they put in new types of weaponry, those double sided sword/spear type weapons that Zidane used would be pretty cool. Double Saber style.

There are other areas to level besides the common places, but it boils down to whether the leader knows where to go. It's not hard to chain Orcs in Yughott Grotto, nor goblins in Ordelle's. There are 3 areas with worms in Korroloka, if people bother to walk further in than just stick at entrance you'll find more worms, besides, Korroloka is not just about worms, the crabs and pugils are a good replacement for Yuhtunga jungle and you can avoid the crowd outside Kazham. There are lots of low levelling spots, it's just that people don't go there. Even at mid levels, while everyone is fighting for spawns in Altepa and Nest, Yhoator and Onzozo goblins are very good alternatives. If you do some homework, and make your own party and bring them to places you've found, you won't complain of places being crowded, cause crowded places are where everyone goes for the sake of convenience.

Big reason to lv off crabs is they are easy. No silence, para, stone, bad AoEs, bad WSs...lv off toramas, cockatrices and flies for a while and you'll apreciate how easy crabs are. There are other things to lv off of, just harder. Different sizes and/or colorations of the same models would be nice though.

The maps are pretty linear. The highest hills are probably the ones in altepa. Other than that, there are usually 2-5 exits/entrances to the map. The maps are pretty linear, especially yhoator and yuhgunta. When they say 3d, they don't mean polys, they mean left, right, forward, backward, up and down. Maybe they mean floating castles, and objects in the sky that you can hop on to from steps or something. I dunno, use your imagination, but this game is really lacking when it comes to moving up and down.

Wouldn't it be an interesting event where the events in the Intro were reinacted? Get a whole army of people to fight a whole army of Beastmen.

Yea, that would be cool to a certain extent. But then everybody would be hiding in the outpost towers waiting for parties.
A lot of areas don't really need more height to them, maybe some sort of castle in the sky with entrances with stairs leading up into the sky with different entrances in different areas. If that made any sense my job is done here.
I'd like to see more castle type dungeons kinda like Delkfutt, but you can see out windows and such with a more medival style.

ooo nice. The new expansion looks great. I can swear I saw the file "Dancer" being downloaded from the most recent patch (it was a big file too). Hopefully it's just an ability for BRD since the only abilities they have from 1-75 is their 2 hour  It's too bad though. I'll probably never get a chance to level in these new places unless I get in a JP PT or I'm forced to make a PT of my own (I find it too stressful to be PT leader and personally takes all the fun out of the PT.)
People keep saying that everyone is too scared to make PTs and go to new areas. I'm sorry but I’ll have to disagree on that. It's not worth the trouble making PTs to going to these new areas that no one is at. I've tried it many times and I still say it's not worth it. Lets take Valkurm for example. Everyone here knows Korolocola <sp tunnel is like pre qufim. Probably at least 3x better to level in than in Valkurm. But the problem is that 99.9% of the people "LFG" have their flags stuck up in Valkurm or places very close to it. Go tell 5 people from Valkurm to go to Bastok and see what happens. 1 will die on the way, 1 of them will probably make it, 1 person will probably get lost, and 1 person won't even know what Bastok is. 1 person will say "sorry g2g kthxbye" by the time everyone gets there.
By the time you get all 5 people setup in Bastok it will be hours. Then even when you start PTing you'll get the usual "sorry g2g now" in 30 minute increments and you wait an extra 30 minutes for someone in Valkurm to make his way over.
I know using low levels is a bad example but sadly it's the same thing in 30+ ranges as well. 90% of everyone has his or her flags stuck up in Garliage <sp or Crawlers nest. How the hell are you supposed to make an Altepa PT or a PT somewhere else? Same thing at low and mid 20s. Everyone is in Qufim or Jungle, how the hell can you make a Korrolkoka <sp or Batallia PT? By the time you get everyone gathered someone is destined to have to leave and you wait for someone else then someone else has to leave and the cycle repeats. Pretty much all I’m saying is don't get excited about these new areas cause you'll NEVER go there unless you're lucky (JP PT, Set PT, Everyone tends to have flag up in Jeuno and have necessary transportation to get to these new places, ect.)
(btw I realize that people may be more familiar with Korr. Tunnel now so don’t flame me about it. Not sure how the situation has been there now but if it’s true that much PT material goes there now…it only took everyone a half a year to figure it out  )

Regarding the famitsu article, they say that the Tavnazian Archipelago is the area you see in the original FFXI intro movie. Go back and watch it, and compare to the new screen. It is the place where Aldo loses his sister to Orcs. So looks like there's going to be a fair few Orcs roaming around there.
Also, those who got the limited FFXI soundtrack with the huge world map art that Amano painted, have another look and find the things that aren't in FFXI or Zilart - I was actually surprised how much Zilart stuff was on it, having just looked for the first time since I bought it ages ago. There are certainly a couple of potential bosses / summons on there, as well as some ships and monsters.

Since it doesn't require Zilart expansion, I doubt the new areas will be linked to Norg.
These places are convenient to get to, that's why they're overcrowded, and they're like the only place to level for a level range. Ask any 45 party to level on Flies in CN, or Cockatrice in Onzozo, guess where will they choose.

I hope they don't making jumping around necessary if they're making maps more 3d. Going to be a head ache to pull mobs and jump up and down on rocks to get back to the exp party. And if you mess up on a jump and fall many you'll aggro a bunch of other mobs. Sneaking through an area that requires some jumping around up and down is going to be a headache too. All in all I think making maps very 3d where jumping around is needed would be a mistake. People already complain about trains in like CN when people are working on a 2d field. Imagine if pullers in CN had to jump around to pull stuff or get to a certain some where. I'm sure there would be way more trains if it were possible.

Because If you have the ziraat expansion some things are explained in it that realte directly to Chains of Promathia that have nothing to do with the ziraat themselves. There are storyline elements you will understand more, if you have the expansion. trust me on this.
Spoiler...Kinda like how Dynamis relates to the shadowlord.Without being directly related to ziraat expansion. But is very important to the future of the shadowlord and vanadiel. And some of the characters that were killed off during The reunification missions.

Honestly I'm very anxious to see what kind of things may be made for the jobs that exist now.
Sure, there's no new jobs announced but some really great things could be made for the jobs that we have now.
Since this is a whole new expansion, some really big stuff could be brought in for the jobs we have!
Ofcourse there's always the possibility nothing will happen to the jobs too..
You can't lose hope though.

Lol, I’ll just show some proof to support what I said. A few nights ago I was trying to find a level up pt in Valkurm. I was a 16 Warrior. I got invited into a PT and there was already another importer in it and a NA. Eventually the PT became 2 JPs, 2 Importers, and 2 NAs. We decided to go to Korolocola <sp Tunnel since the PT setup was very good and Valkurm had its usual 200+ people in it.
Here’s a little Trivia question. You have 2 NAs, 2 JPs, and 2 Impoters traveling a long distance to a great EXP spot. By the time you get to Bastok, how many of those 6 people do you think were left? Oh geeze the NAs left! What a surprise! -_- 1 of them said “sorry g2g by the time we reached highlands and the other NA kept bitching that it took too long to walk to Bastok and he just ended up leaving by the time we got to N Gustaburg.
This left the 4 of us stranded. There weren’t any people on invite near Bastok. We tried asking people and everything. We ended up having to get an importer that walked from Valkurm and 1 that came from Airship in Jeuno. We sat there for over an hour to get members by the time we got to Bastok. A total pain in he ass but the PT ended up being 5000exp+/hour and I went from like level 16.1 to 19.8 in 1 freaking pt. Those NAs who “had to go sure missed out.
Just supporting my statement that even though there will be all these great new areas to level up at, you’ll never PT there unless you get a JP PT or you’re in a set pt.

Hmm- if you just buy the JP PC version one then you'd have the content ID registered, and you could find some NA one that a friend has. ( this is what I'm doing.) Because you already have the content ID, you wont have to input the same info twice.
Or you could find a nice download spot in the internet ( only if you already have the content ID purchased mind you. )

A little side question: E3 is coming ever so near and I was wonder if they will show off the expanison?

Actually the Famitsu piece, on Quiter's site, mentions that there are going to be a lot of new monsters in the expansion, created from totally new models rather than just new textures/colours. Because they are keeping the level cap at 75, they are also introducing new things in a number of different ways - one of the main techniques they are using is "potential effects". These exist in the game now, somewhat, but they will be building on these a lot. Also they're adding a lot of new items into the game.
There's also a small bit about the airship scene. This is actual game footage rather than an event. You'll be on one of those airships.

Ask and you shall receive. :0~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ ~ ~ ~
If you know, could you give us an example of a "potential effect"?
Is this the same as a "latent effect" or is this something different?
From the pictures, I think I see 4 turrets per ship...
4 gunners...one pilot...maybe an...engineer.......that makes 6....
New mob models, always good.
I wonder what the ant lions will look like?
Will we get the alternative hunting grounds we so desperately need?

See, the thing is, if there are other areas at that level but they don't have crabs, people will go where the crabs are. A lot of the areas that are popular are popular *because* they have crabs, mandies and crawlers, not despite it. (That, and a lot of people don't have the Altep crystal, which makes it a pain to go there even if there are mobs that are good for your level. We don't know yet how easy it will be to get to the Promathia areas.)
Valkurm isn't popular because the monsters there are better to level on. They aren't - crabs are actually a terrible leveling mob unless you have 3 BLM, they take forever to kill if they're decent level and cut down your chain. But people *think* they're a good leveling mob because you can fight 1-2 levels higher crab and usually not die (although it will take so long even 200 exp won't be good), and they notice time spent not fighting ("downtime") more than time spent fighting, while both count equally toward exp/hr and exp chains. Also Valkurm is popular because of its location (close to two starting cities) and because of a positive-feedback effect: more people LFP go where there are more parties, more parties form where there are more people LFP.
If you take 90 sec to kill a crab, and then 10 sec to pull the next one, that's 100 sec between kills. If you take 60 sec to kill a pugil, and then the puller goes out while mages rest 30 sec, that's 90 sec between kills - i.e. you are killing *faster* than on crabs, getting *more exp* (if they are the same level), and you have a better chance of getting chain #4 (or #5 if you were already getting #4). And the HP, VIT and defense difference between crabs and pugils of the same level is actually much bigger than 50%.
But try explaining that to a pickup party at level 15, half of them on their first job with no SJ. They just *know* that a 100 exp crab is better than a 80 exp fly that takes half as long to kill. :(

Part of the reason people stick more to crabs (and Gobs) in Valkurm is because most people in their low to mid teens (for the first time, at least) are like "oh, look, we've been having no trouble with stuff that reads IT, let's take on a pugil" and immediately get pasted by Screwdriver. :dead: I know that happened to me. Took me a couple of levels before I was like "sure, what the hell, bring the pugils on".
Around 20 I soloed crabs in Valkurm as a monk, and did the same for a little while at 25/26 in Qufim before I gave up on monk for good. MNK/RDM works pretty well, all things considered, but it definitely isn't something people want to take the time to work with. (It's also useless for farming, pretty useless for soloing, and so I'm giving up on Monk entirely, or at least until I start working on Thief, Warrior, and Ninja.)
I'd still rather take a gob that gives 200exp and takes 50% longer to kill normally than a pugil that gives 140exp, just because the gobs can be forced to suicide, speeding things up just a bit. (And because the gobs tend to take damage from a lot more spells than the pugils do... I mean, christ, those things, along with crabs, have a hell of a lot of resistance to any elemental spells other than Fire and Aero, it seems... Anything that gives more bang for the MP is a good thing.)
Lastly, as a bit of a service to everyone who's hitting lv20 for the second time and hated Qufim the first time around... build your own party and hit Zi'tah, and go goblin and bat hunting, okay? Everything there is about the same level as in Qufim (well... at the low end, at least...), you can pick up more money for fighting there, and it's more likely to not be beastman-controlled (because of the nice work of all of those lv55+ people who head out there to kill harder stuff in places like Ro'Maeve and the Boyahda Tree), so you can farm crystals like crazy.:dead:

that's prolly because lvling pts can kill the ghouls in valk =\
they think it carries over to qufim, and get the impression that they're invincible~; ;
i just say before we go out to lvl, to get to a safe spot before they pop or we'll get killed, and if they don't want to i'll run back to the cave myself and watch the pt disband one by one =\

Qufim's a hellhole for a monk to find a party in, though, which is why I gave up on monk. (And when you'd rather spend time getting EXP than trying to get your pass to Kazham... well, it makes people question (1) your usefulness and (2) your sanity. I've just been of the opinion that the whole Elshimo area is good for two things: taking relatively high-level parties there (Tonberry hunting) and getting Leviathan.)
I think Li'Telor has been controlled by one nation or another on Alexander since I started playing, though (~9 weeks, so that's not saying a lot), and I just wanted to thank everyone who takes the time to keep the beastmen from taking THAT area over. :P It's nice to have an area where anyone from lv20 on up can be almost guaranteed of getting crystals...

So true. The real reason why Qufim is under control is for these reasons.
-Most newbies that head there don't even know where to get signet at in Jeuno
-Newbies try and run like hell when it's night
-Newbies try and take on enemies they can't fight and get PWN3D
-Getting threw the tower isn't the easiest task
-The Gardens isn't the easiest place, especially if you are with a group of people that have no idea what's going on
The list can go on and on.

How about the ruins in Sauromugue too? Maybe something will be accessed from them.
Pso'Xja to be accessed from Tenshoudo? There's some stairs that are blocked off in the Jeuno branch, but maybe it can be accessed from all branches of Tenshoudo via some teleport devices?
Dengeki think that Attohwa is accessed from Meriphataud. If that's the case, it almost certainly means the south-east point, with an area that stretches round the east coast north of Buburimu.
Not entirely sure where Tavnazian Archipelago is situated. Dengeki (or was it Famitsu) suggested that it is the big island off the north west coast near LaTheine.
Will the tracks from Bastok's Metalworks be opened up? Will the cave in N. Gusta finally have some use? How about the two caves in Konschtat and La Theine that seem to serve little purpose?
I just hope there is no key "hilarity" like the Zilart airpass rush.

Developer's Room update:
(Has information regarding the next Patch update and CoP)
"We are currently putting the final touches on this month's version update, as well as preparing for the autumn release of "Chains of Promathia." The update should be available for download within the next two weeks.
Due to it's size, the Windows version update will be divided into two seperate downloads, with the second being on the same day of the single Playstation 2 update.
Please refer to PlayOnline news for details.
As for "Chains of Promathia", the upcoming expansion pack will include a plethora of new features that are too large to include in one version update. These features include: over 40 new areas, hundreds of new monsters, new sound effects and background music, as well as new quests and missions.
Changes in item, character, and system data will be added through version updates available later this autumn. This will allow those players who do not purchase the expansion pack to experience some of what "Chains of Promathia" has to offer.
We plan on regularly updating our official website with the latest breaking news on all features of FINAL FANTASY XI, so keep your eyes open!
Some highlights of the upcoming update are as follows:
* Many adjustments will be made to the Conflict event known as Ballista. In addition to these changes, new search and targeting features will be added.
* The number of regions where garrison (outpost) battles can be fought will be increased.
* Various new quests will be added.
* Several new orb battles will be added. This will include alliance-type battles as well as an increase in types of battles one can experience with each orb.
* A temporary new system for the distribution of experience earned beyond level 75 will be introduced. Players can utilize this system to raise various attributes.
* The location of certain monsters in select areas will be adjusted.
* A variety of new items, weapons, and armor will be released.
* A mannequin used to display equipment inside one's Mog House will become available.
* It will now be possible to stack 99 fireworks instead of the current limitation of 12.
Accordingly, players will be temporarily inable to put items up for auction for a short period of time starting at 2:00 a.m. on Friday, June 25, 2004 (PDT). Details on this partial closure of the auction house will be announced in the coming days.
In addition to the changes mentioned above, there are several others that will be posted at the time of the update.
Best regards,
The FINAL FANTASY XI Team"

Uleguerand Range- this looks like an expansion of Beaudacine Glacier like previously mentioned.
Tavnazian Safehold- obviously an expansion to Tavnazian Archipelago
someplace west of Quon... maybe the boat route from Norg?
or another expansion from Valkurm Dunes?
Bibiki Bay- a much nicer version of Valkurm
Pretty clear that's it's in Buburimu Peninsula near Mhuara.
Phomiuna Aqueducts- a dungeon area... possibly another expansion of Tavnazian Archipelago
What awaits us in the new lands........

I noticed in the description of the Uleguerand Range it mentioned "daredevil explorers...sliding down its sheer slopes" instead of climbing up. I wonder if there will be a new kind of mini-game addedd.
I hope that Manaclippers in Bibiki Bay can be controlled by players, though its more likely that they will be NPC controlled and have a set course from island to island in the Bay. It would be neat if players could rent the Manaclippers and cruise around the bay to explore the different islands. Parties could rent a Manaclipper and it could be controlled by one person engaging the helm, and if they wanted to swtich who was steering it the helm could be disengaged. Well, wish in one hand...
I also like how the new areas seem to be exploration heavy.
Did you find that map Jonnyram? Maybe missed you posting it. And maybe I should check before asking again...

I think the Weeper looks awesome. And I wonder if the corse will be one of the demon type enemies addedd for SAM jobs.
Now if I could only motivate my self to start playing the game again...

Did anyone happen to read the small caption for the Corse pic posted above?
"Corses are the animated remains of an accient royal line that was interred in the graveyards of Parradamo. Unlike the typical mindless undead, corses have risen after thousands of years of torpor with a clear intellect and purpose. They command other undead with lost magics of old and scheme to build up a nation of the dead".
Sorry but "Scheme to build up a nation of the dead" sounds like this could lead to a new beastman type. I may be jumping ahead of myself here, but the fact that they can used "lost magics of old" to "command undead" makes me hope they are possibly adding in a necromancer job ; ;.
Things are looking promising on this expansion.

I really love the new Middle Eastern esque clothing! All those mythologies in the deserts, Persia, Arabian Nights esque stuff is some of my favorite styles. Turbains are awsome. XD
I hope there's a White Turbain, because I want to see Paladin's wear that and other White colored armor like RA, like Aldo or how the Paladin's in FFTA were. Anyone else think that would be absolutely awsome looking? With the cloth hanging around the head, with a white Turbain on top and White robes and armor on. I'd consider being a Paladin sooner than I wish now just to be able to look like that.
I also love the Native American/South American esque outfit the Galka is wearing. Imagine being a Bst, or a War/Nin duel wielding Axes wearing that outfit. That would be so damn awsome.
I don't know about you guys, but this is the kind of clothing I want. When I think of Final Fantasy, I don't really think of standard medievil looking outfits and locations. I think of exotic, strange, and mystical looking outfits that are intricate and bizzare but at the same time, insanely cool and different. Some of the outfits we have now are cool and very well detailed, but you have to admit that adding more of that exotic flavor to clothing's really going to help differentiate the feeling of this game as a Final Fantasy game.
Even though it was Steam Punk, even FFVII had somewhat unique feeling designs. They were like a different interpretation of modern day styles. I want to see that kind of thing more in this game, but since this is a free roaming fantasy/steam punk medievil world I want to see even more fantastic looking outfits and locations. Just different, and exotic. FF isn't the usual medievil atmosphere in my opinion, its always had this ethereal and exotic feeling to its characters looks and the atmosphere. Thats what made it feel FFish to me, and I'm glad there's some attempt to bring more flavor to even little things like character looks.
Now if only SE would put in Goggles as a new equip, they can be like the special kind Goblin's wear (without the mask). Imagine being a Thief or a Ninja with cool looking goggles on.
I also ask that deep down..because when I think of the word Optical, I think of something you wear over your eyes like Goggles. Its a faint hope, that maybe something like Optical Lenses, or Optical Goggles will be made with some kind of Evasion bonus...
So no one has to wear that god awful looking Optical Hat! :spin:
Please SE....stop punishing our heads with its ugliness...
i wish i was high enuff to do some of these missions, or find people to do them with
Not to delve too deeply into speculation, but...
***Not concrete information, just some comments I made***
Look at that Taru in "Middle Eastern" inspired clothing on the COP page. Look at it, and tell me that's not a Blue Mage uniform. They claim it's 'jet black', but it certainly LOOKS bluish... may be just the lighting... Just add a sabre or cutlass, and you pretty much have the recent trend in blue magery looks (as seen in FF Tactics: Advance)
Further, less obvious speculation:
Baron Corazza - Magic Knight (FF5, FFTactics) had a middle-eastern costume feel as well... though in 5 it was a white turban w/ white cape. hmm
Bison Jacket - Geomancer? ...dancer? "Surprisingly easy to move in"
Igqira Weskitt - no idea. I highly doubt 'Shaman' or 'Necromancer' as a class.
In all liklihood, these are simply just pretty new armors to show off to your friends, which I will equally enjoy, but I can dream, can't I? :P
Go Blue mage~

I have a different take on the new armors.
Look at the pics. All the new armors are in a different expansion area. I think it may be area-specific armors. Just a thought.

Im hoping for alot more cutlass style weapons and since its middle eastern styling (tavnazia seems to be that "country from far east") then from the looks of it equipment will be alot more colorful and have gems and things on it. I'd go for that goldsmith armor. The one the hume is in.

It looks to me like Bahamut will be a major boss in Chains of Promathia, not a summon. Guess we'll find out sooner or later, though.

I am actually hoping for a Necromancer job, maybe not with this expansion but certainly down the road. I mean if you are wondering how they could do that, just look at the pirate ship that attacks the boat from Mhaura and Selbina, there are 3 summoner type classes summoning the undead on board our ship. So sure they can do a Necro class easy and I for one will welcome that with open arms.

Necromancer's never fit the FF feel to me really. Its a common MMO class but it doesn't feel like it'd appear in this game since its never appeared in another FF before.
Magic Knight though, I think would be interesting. There is no class that has spells specifically designed to compliment the sword. Red Mage has the En's but come on...how many times should a Rdm fight in exp pt's?

While it's fresh, may as well ask if anyone has a clue what that thing between Ifrit and Fenrir at the top is supposed to be? Actually, there's another weird couple of things in the top right - can't figure them out for the life of me.
Some odd stuff on the map:
- Holla is in the wrong place
- No Yagudos
The map also implies that Odin will appear some time, as well as a couple of other summons.

To answer your first question (cuz it's the only one I can answer),
my best guess would be that the one between fenrir and ifrit is titan...thought I could be wrong.

How can there be so much undead in a world where nobody really dies?
