View Full Version : What does "Hold" do in Chat Filters?

Sometimes I think it'd be nice to be able to filter /tells. However, the only option in the chat filter is a "Hold" option, which doesn't seem to do much of anything when enabled.
Does anyone know what the Hold option actually does?

Can't test it now, so I could be wrong, but I think it will create a second chat window in the actual chat window with the hold text in it if you have chatbox spam.

when u choose to "Hold" the /party, /linkshell, /shout, or /tells, they will be "held" at the top of log window (in a separate window which pops up as necessary) even when other logs such as dmg is moving so quickly, thereby allowing u to see them without them being "gone."
try this in party battles and see what they look like.
btw, if u'd rather not receive any /tells during parties, u must set ur online status to "away." this refuses any /tells sent and returns an error to a sender. (/party, /linkshell, and /shout still come into the log window.) however, if u just leave the filter to "off" for /tells, it'll just go away as other logs come in, which is what i'd recommend if u feel those /tells to be annoying, so that u won't miss any important /tells. puttin something like "i'm busy w/ a party. may not be able to respond to all /tells" in the search comment may be a good idea.

Call me a newbie... but I haven't found where to enable "Hold."
I figure this would help with battle spam. Where can I find this option?
Thanks for the help in advance :)

oki, go to config/chatfilters
then go to tell or party chat or whatever you like and click on it, like you would turn the check filter (for example) on, then you will see that there is the off option --> hold option --> on option
choose what you like ^^
sorry for my crappy english^^
