hello,

i am on odin and after this weekends tally the result was, that windurst and san d'oria are tied for the 1st place :eek: and bastok last (again :( )

i am a citizen of bastok and i wanna know if there are any advantages or disadvantages due of this result. do i earn more conquest points???

I believe that being in last place extends the duration of Signet. There is also a multiplier to all CP gained if you are in a Beastmen controlled area or in a non-Bastok controlled area.

is bastok usually last on every other server?
i think bastok has only been in 1st place twice on siren since i got the game back in december!

Signet duration time is one thing.
I think it has influence on Mog House Expansion aswell, but unsure, since I am still to do MHE 1. ;)

I've never noticed or heard from any reliable source that either Signet duration or Mog Safe expansion, but that doesn't mean the conquest tally doesn't affect those things. We do know that Signet is affected by your Rank with your home nation, and that your fame in your home nation can determine whether or not your moogle gives you the Mog Safe expansion quest, but these things might have multiple factors.

The two things that I know for certain is influenced by your nation's current place in the conquest race are: Whether or not certain items will be available for purchase from gate guards using Conquest Points (this advantages only members of the the nation in question) and whether or not certain items will be available for purchase from merchants in that nation's home city (this can advantage be any advantage to anyone... for example, millicorn is only sold off a San o'Dria merchant when San o'Dria is doing well in the conquest race... that corn can be used to raise Bastok and San o'Dria fame a small loss of gil... likewise, Bastok sells cornettes when they are doing well in the Conquest Race, which can be used to raise Windurst fame).

Having control over specific regions has benefits as well, like having outposts in those regions controlled by your guards, and merchants in your home town selling goods from those regions.

As the others have mentioned, I've heard there is a multiplier for the amount of conquest points you earn if your nation is not in control of a specific region... i.e., you earn more CP if your nation is not in control of the region you're fighting in. Though that doesn't have anything to do with your nation being ranked last... your nation being ranked last just means that that the places you're hunting likely won't be under control of your nation, and yet they might be.

On my server, Bastok has been doing poorly for the past month or so, and before that they generally flipflopped between 1st and 3rd place, or maintained their 1st place position. This week is the first week I'd ever seen Bastok in 2nd place, on any server (I started playing on Garuda, where Bastok seemed dominant.)

Signet Duration is:

rank+position in nation rankings.


So if you are rank 10 and your nation is in first place, signet will last 11 hours.

If your rank 10 and your nation is in third place, signet will last 13 hours.

Just to add on, if your nation is in first place after the tally, you can buy CP gear from the signet guards of other nations. The extra fee you pay is the CP cost of the item as if it was one rank higher.

Put more simply... if you want to buy a Bastok Rank 2 item (normally 2000 CP) you pay 4000 CP (as if it was a Rank 3 item) if your nation (not Bastok) is in first.

I believe this is the only way a non-Bastok citizen can get the Rank 6 Republic mantle.

Bastok is usually in 2nd on my server, sometimes 3rd sometimes 1st, but usually San d is #1.
