Mermaid Ring and Peddlestox[w/e goblin name is]

Has anyone done the actual item process instead of buying the Mermaid ring from the AH? I have all four items and next I'm supposed to trade them to the goblin in yutunga. After that, supposedly he marks a spot on your map and you go and use pickaxes around that area or some shit to have a chance of getting the ring, not even a guarantee . Anyone have any good clarifications on this or any helpful info?

The gobling marked off a spot on the map to check, and I've checked there over the couse of a few in-game days. Nothing....

Someone has to have done this stuff. :sweat:

the goblin only appears on wind day in yuhtunga jungle.

Since you have the mark, i am assuming you found him already.

when you go to the marked spot, make sure you zoom in all the way on your map. If you are doing the overview, you might be on the spot, but when you zoom in, you might be a little off.

That's the only thing i can think of for now...

also, from the people i know that have done this, you chance at around 6000 gil, cactus stems, or the ring. Other items are possible, but these are the 3 i have heard of.

I've searched all around that area, basically the whole circle on my ghetto picture, and there is nothing at all.

I was in the process of doing this before news of pwnage, but i only got 2/4 items. I understand it the same way as you.. just find the spot the gob marks off for you and hope you get lucky. I dont know why it isnt there:sweat:

Zoom in ALL THE WAY, and search for the marker again. One of my friends had this problem. He figured out that he wasn't actually on the marker, but a little off, because he wasn't zoomed in all the way on the map.

For zoom, I think either PgDn will do it, or Alt + (period).

I'd completed this quest and have gotten the Mermaid's Ring.

At first the ??? on the marked spot didn't appear for me for several days - no matter what time or day I checked it. I almost gave up, but then I went there one more time on Windsday and at around 19:00 the ??? finally showed up. I traded the pickaxe and got the ring.

Beware though, the ring is not a sure drop. I know a couple peoples who've gotten gils or Cactus Stem instead of the ring :(.

I think it was 3-4 real days. I know I made a mistake of trading the items to Peddlestox at the end of Windsday and by the time I get to the marked spot, Windsday was over and no ??? was to be found. Just keeping checking back on Windsday I guess.
