A Member of my linkshell a few days ago mentioned this thing he called "Forced Drops" of Rare items.
As you all should know, you can only hold one of any item designated as RARE at a given time. Meaning if you have a RARE item, and somehow obtain another one.... it will be lost.
What was explained about "Forced Drops" pertains mostly to BCNM, but might apply in other cases as well.
At the end of BCNM, you get 6 items, many of which are Rare. "Forced Dropping" means that by already holding some of those Rare Items, you "Force" them into not dropping... increasing your chances of getting the OTHER items.
Does this really work? If I was to go into BCNM40 with Quartermaster, and already have the crappy items in my mogsafe (Guarding Gorget, Survival Belt, Ice Spikes, Absorb-STR, etc) would I "Force" items such as Phalanx and Erase to drop more often because the game can't give me any of the other items?
The person I heard this from said it was mainly used in BC70 (some people call it BC30) to force the more expensive items to drop every time.
Can anyone clarify on this?
