Well, we have the top 5 dmg jobs thread, lets do the top 5 most wanted.
What are the most wanted jobs while your lookin for PT members. Whats the hardest spot to fill at 60+.
Help me decide on a route to take, dont wanna sit around for hours waitin for a PT. Mid 20's I see many War's and Thf's sittin around but the Whm's get eaten up faster then they can throw up seek.
Thanks
Lunakat
Tank... NIN/WAR
Healer... RDM/WHM
Support... BRD/WHM

i would venture a guess and say it's something like.
1. support (brd, rdm)
2. healer (whm, rdm)
3. tank (pal, nin)
4. damage (blm, rng)

Hm...
1) White Mage and Paladin, so many people refuse to group without them.
2) Red Mage or Bard
3) Black Mage
4) Another White Mage, Black Mage, or Red Mage
5) DRK, DRG, SAM, RNG, MNK
6) DRK, DRG, SAM, RNG, MNK

From what i've seen:
3 basics for any group-
TANK- PAL/WAR <or> NIN/WAR
HEALER- WHM/any
SUPPORT- RDM/any <or> BRD/any
The last 3 slots depend on the what you can fill withfrom the following list:
Tier 1 Damage-
BLM/any
RNG/any
DRK/any
Tier 2 Damage-
MNK/any
DRG/any
WAR/any
SAM/any
Support Squad-
SMN/WHM
THF/any
Extras?
BST/any
If you have a tier 1 damage dealer, a thief is almost necessary. So doing 2 Tier 1 damage dealers (i.e. DRK and BLM) grab a thief for slot 6. This party setup is light on healing depending on your basic support's job, but it is fast on killing. Thief keeps the hate on the tank with Fuidama. It is essential that with this setup, at least 1 other person must be able to provoke to set up Fuidama in the beginning easier.
If you cannot get Tier 1 damage dealers, go for 2 Tier 2 damage dealers, as the thiefs ability too keep hate isnt as necessary and grab a summoner to enhance the party's abilities. A 3rd tier 2 damage dealer can work as well.
I think that is how many party's are setup when the leaders are looking for members. Just my observations at least...

id rather have a whm healing me then a rdm. my pt config is usually:
Tank (Paladin)
Melee DMG (RNG,DRK,DRG,THF)
'Hybrid' DMG/TNK (SAM,NIN,MNK,BST)
Main Healer (WHM,RDM)
Magic DMG (BLM,RDM)
Support Magic (SMN,BRD)
Since summoners and bards are kinda rare, ill fill in their spot with a back up healer.
So My Top 5:
1)BRD
2)WHM
3)RDM
4)PLD
5)BLM

interesting - i've often been main healer. works pretty well too.
i still would rank bard's as number one job ahead of me, despite my rdm favoritism :)
but on midgardsormr, seems that high lvl NA bards are so rare, they are almost considered non-existant (JP bards would be great but they are never on the same times as us :( ).
just my $.02

I would rather an RDM, with convert and refresh they are like never out of mp.

I am a semi high level NA BRD, level 52, I really need to update profile on left. Last night I wanted to find a replacement BRD for my group my /sea yielded 3 results for the entire server in my level range lol

At level 40+, I'd say the highest demanded jobs are PLD, BRD, and RDM. Followed closely by WHM. So many people are melee, it's normally pretty easy to find at least a WAR or a damage dealer. Parties usually fall short finding >GOOD< Paladins to act as tanks, and good Bards and Red Mages are in HIGH demand (for their abilities to buff up the party and debuff the mobs).

rng requires a friend to do massive damage...any team with rng should also have a samurai, as no other job is gonna keep up with rng tp wise

Back when I had my 47 war, on my pc. The Red mage was always the best to have as a staple postion, the refresh, and convert, the cures and even the blm spells. Thats was how my group always started a party off with. I'm lucky now to have a static party witha RDM in it, now only if we were higher lvs :p
Oh and Kurgan what Armor set is that ?

They are so rare cuz BRDs get so damn boring after 50 levels and get our ass kicked by Too Weaks since we are the worst solo class.
Mine is retired at 56...looking at the future songs...only one that looks worth while is Choco Maz. Which ill be damned to level that high for.
My fav. party lineup past 50:
PLD/WAR
WHM/BLM
RNG/NIN (or DRG/WAR)
BLM/WHM
BRD/WHM
THF/NIN
So far... I think this is how setting a party up goes... high 60's to 70+
1) RDM, BRD (mp regen and support)
2) PLD, NIN (tank)
3) RDM, BLM, WHM (second mage)
4) RDM, BLM, WHM (third mage)
5) any melee damage dealer
6) any melee damage dealer
Top 5 jobs (in order of priority):
BRD, RDM, WHM, PLD (or NIN), DRK (or MNK or RNG, these 2 seem to be favourite damage dealers)

I agree with Kagi
Most party configs are:
1 Tank (PLD or NIN)
1 Support (BRD or RDM)
2 Mages (WHM, BLM, RDM, SMN)
2 Damage (RNG, THF, MNK, DRK, DRG, SAM, WAR)
As far as most demanded, it depends on party configs. I'd say Bards are definately #1, but after that it really depends on what's on, who's available, and other factors. However Bard is always wanted in every party.
I'd say every party needs a WhiteMage.
Equally important a party needs a main tank, which I think Paladin is best at (yes, Ninja can work too)
Bard and/or RedMage are big on the Get list, for being Mana batteries, and the Bard does some great stuff for the party. (However, i've found many bards to be quite moody and PMS'y)
Then you want some damage.
BlackMage is great.
Thief is great.
Drk/Rng are great.
Drg/Sam/War are great.
well... i guess just about everything is great.
It all depends on party chemestry. Depending on what is already in the party, other jobs can be "most wanted" to treat the parties needs.

Demand for whms kinda drop around 65+. They are still needed, but it seems as if there are too many to pick from at that level and not enough melee. Also depending on mobs you fight, a second blm or a rdm can easily sub for a whm.
The only job I know that is always wanted from level 13-75 is Black Mage. The demand for blm never decreases and they are needed for HNMs as well as other endgame content later on. After 25 Bard is a wanted class all the way up to end game, and I beleive Ranger is also a highly sought after job class because of the amount of damage they can do in such a short time.
Also PLD is a sought after class, but it seems as if they are out-tanked by Ninja from mid to high level. Demand for melee damage dealers kinda sucks around level 50-65. But after 65 most melee can get pts alot easier...
Also 2-3 member bst pts owners you :p

Hmm so far the best parties I've partied in were:
Ninja/War (ninja blink rocks)
War/Ninja (back up voker)
Theif/ninja (puller and used for our skill chain: Sneak, Trick)
Whm/blm (me ;) everyone knows why they're there)
Rdm/whm (awsome for refresh... esp when the party is trying to do exp chains)
and last spot depends... like blm, rng, drk, but I prefer blm or rng.

I think it depends on your level range and what you fight really~. Personally my goal isn't to stay alive to get exp, it's to kill faster with less down time to get more exp. While a white mage can be useful for this with the Curaga series and the -na, erase spells, the redmage will lessen downtime with refresh and convert, as well as magic bursting (if it doesn't get resisted). And let's face it, have you been in a party without a bard that you considered really good at higher levels? Bard = 1-1.5k extra exp per hour (All my bard parties have gotten at least 3.5-4k exp, a few have gone up to 5k+ exp). It's such a pain that even people with +13 acc bonus have trouble hitting ><.
My top five would be~ Bard, Redmage, Ranger (pairs well with thieves too~), White Mage, Paladin

As of level 60, white mages seem to get invites like crazy on my server.
Certainly more than any tank job. About even with red mage, but definitely under bard.
Usually there's a handful of paladins and warriors, as well as the occasional ninja that sits in Jeuno with seek on for several hours. I've yet to see a mage of any color sit LFG for more than an hour at most.
