I spent about 3-4 hours on this quest finding the random placement of the ???

This was a HUGE pain in the ass, but I figure it's Slow, it'll be worth it, guess again.

I've used it on about 10 mobs from decent to easy and have YET to land it...wtf?

It doesn't even land on an easy mob, how useful could it possibly be on T-IT mobs...

All I can say is that I'm glad I did the quest instead of spending the 50k at the AH to buy it...the tools are more expensive than Sheihi too...lol

Do not do the quest or buy this scroll, it's a waste of time/gil.

What level is your Ninjitsu skill? That might be the problem. My Ninjitsus are rarely resisted.

Ninjitsu skill 10 :(

If that's the problem, then I apoligize for the above post. I played EQ and the spell itself had the resist rate, skill only affected the interruption rate and the duration/damage of spells.

Does ninjitsu also affect your interruption rate as well? (IE: if my ninjitsu skill is maxed out will I be able to cast Utsusemi through hits easier?)

What's the cheapest way to skill-up?

Cheapest way would be to spam Hyoton: Ichi over and over. 30 seconds recast time, but the powders are cheap, like 1k a stack.

Not sure bout interuption rate, I think it's level related. I rarely get interupted by low lvl monsters when they hit me, but the stuff I'm exping on usually does.

Yes ninjitsu skill helps you continue casting while interrupted - a ninja tank without max ninjitsu skill will soon be a dead one. And yes low ninjitsu skill makes all the enfeeble ninjitsu resisted, they still cause hate though not as much.
Enfeeble ninjitsus are a huge part of keeping hate 40+ when you pt with rangers that dont use crappy ammo - don't ignore them by any means.

Ninjutsu's level has to be close to cap to keep it consistent. If you're blink tanking properly and using all the tools at your disposal though, not just UTsusemi, once you Ninjutsu level is capped once it'll be very easy to keep it up, so don't worry. If you use Ninjutsu right it won't be a problem, my Ninjutsu affects Totetote(IT) monsters really often.

Its worth getting Hojo don't worry. Its slow effect isn't to noticable for the Ichi version, but it has a real important purpose in that out of all your Ninjutsu, Hojo gets the most hate upon initial casting. Its a pretty essential tool to keeping hate so the quest was well worth it if you practice Ninjutsu.

Like me, your a WAR/NIN, so we have bad Ninjutsu skill, we also can't tank to well unless we have near perfect timing... but, the higher damage output, better chainability, etc. Is what is turned me on to WAR/NIN instead of NIN/WAR.

The fact that high Lv WARs can squeeze into so many roles is the reason why, at least on my server, the Japanese give me infinite invites.

WARs are better for a static PT, because, if you had a NIN and you decided to fight mandragoras, you're screwed, alot of the NA's don't realize this either...

I'm not saying NIN/WAR is bad, it's a better tank, got enfeebles, etc.

It's just I like to play WAR more.

Anyway, you need to have your Ninjutsu, and your sub maxed alot. Even, then, it dosen't prevent interuptions by a whole lot.

Lv10. Yeah that's your problem. LOL!
Max out your ninjitsu using Hyoton. The powder for it is CHEAP.
