HQ Relic Shots! CHECK IT OUT!

I did a little bit of model switching, and after about 2 hours with the various tools at my disposal, I found a method of interpreting the various code used in the models and the sectionalization of the location of the models so that I can find any model relatively quickly...

I noticed that the SE-released Relic Shots were a bit lacking in quality, so I fired up the old backbuffer rez switch and went to work. I use a Hume M Zell face. As of right now, I have PLD, DRG, RDM, and DRK's Relic done. I have taken about 10 pics of each, but I can only host one of each. Here are my samples. What you request will be what I work on, in that respective order.

Specs:
Frontbuffer 1024x768
Backbuffer 2048x2048
Fraps 1.9 used
Uncompressed .bmp

I have to .ZIP them to host them, as each file is 2.3MB and I don't have enough spare hosting for that.

Frag, you guessed wrong. I don't know of any FAQ you wrote, and my method is EXTREMELY fast.

Basically, use the skin searching trick in the DATA tool. Relic for Hume M is all in 131xxx. Then, when you see the skin for your target model, check the model number.

And normal Hume M equip is in 27xxx, 28xxx, and 29xxx.

I confess it WAS your screen that inspired me though Frag. I remember you from the old Mog House topic on GameFAQs. I was the one who put together that list of models everyone keeps stealing (rad9700pro)

And I will get to work on Bard RIGHT now.

Unlikely...some program is handling the files poorly. But you could always pull your firewall down and see if it works.

Yes, I am still doing it. Sadly, I will have to do it Tuesday or Wednesday, since my FFXI comp is broken and I will have to get meself a new Hard Drive. Also, my tools for that and my lists of models are on that old HDD, so I am really screwed.

I haven't looked into Frag's method, but I know it is different from my own. I will check it out.

I personally use the Japanese "DATA" tool to search for skins. Good to know JP when you do this stuff.

Oh and thanks for your compliments. It feels good to know my work is appreciated. Frag truly inspired this, with his pic of his DRG in the relic body piece. And I know about the shroud around relic and the rarity of sighting it.

i use the same tool. but i use 4 instead of 1. i just like being able to go backwards.

I know there's a button to go backwards in TOOL1, but I, even if there wasn't, still prefer being able to TELL what it is at which I am looking. Those models do not look at all right.

Also, in TOOL1, you can find models and skins for mobs too.

i hit every button on my keyboard, the only other button that did anythign was F1. either way, i've been using these programs for a long time now, so i have no problem finding the needed model using ffxitool4. perhaps for a person just starting out, ffxitool might help a bit more. i think either is good.i just like being able to skip forward and back by entire folders and zoom and shit like that.

The l means "Legs."

tim doesn't have any connection to the game version that I can see. Just look at the:

Then look at the picture to see what legs they are. Nothing else it shows helps.

As with AF, DRG Relic > all :D

AF is equippable level 52-60 and is obtained via quests and coffers. Relic is equippable 70+ and is randomly dropped by monsters in Dynamis.

AFII = Relic

AF is the level 40-42 weapons and 52-60 armor.
AFII (relics) are the level 70+ armor pieces. To my knowledge there's no AFII weapon. Well, I guess with the introduction of the final WS weapons, those could possibly qualify as the AFII weapons. :sweat:

Hmm, I dunno about the new "WS" weapons since Excalibur can be worn by a RDM, only "Class specified" weapons with the "WS" I think are the GAxe (not quite sure), but for sure the Scythe, the bow , and the lance, the GKatana and Katan since they are class specific anyway.

The images ARE correct. The Warrior AFII is blue/black. The NIN AFII is orange/red/black.

nope, there's one for every weapon. they supposedly start as the "relic weapons" which deal 1 dmg and have 999 delay. you craft them 5 times through a quest in dynamis and they become the real relic weapons.

Just to make a small clarification, those armors are known as Artifact-2. The weapons dropped in Dynamis are known as Relics. The relic weapons are very hard to make as they have to be crafted 4 times after you get the intial drop in Dynamis :)

I've started an index of all wearable gear for Hume Male. I've gone through them all already and identified all head/body/hands/legs/feet gear for Hume Males, and labeled all the ones that I recognized. I have a lot of "unknown" gear in my list, though. I plan on going through them all and figuring out which is which.

Once I get the Hume Male index completed, I could easily do all of the others, as they're listed in the same order for all other races/genders.

Sorry it's taken me so long, I've been busy in-game a lot and haven't completed my index yet. :sweat:

I did, however, get half-way through all of the hume male gear. Once I complete it, it will be easy to index the other gears as they all come in the same order, like I said before.

As far as Haubergeon/Thick Set and some of the other high level rare gears, there's a lot of gear that I recognize it by looking at it, but have no clue exactly what it's called. Since I've only attained level 52, some of the higher level gear that's not obvious what it is, I can't identify. I know OF the Haubergeon and the Thick Set, and I've probably seen them, but I probably did not know that I was looking at the Haubergeon or Thick Set.

I'll see if I can put more time into it this coming weekend.
