Are they useful? I'm level 11 and my Evasion Boost isn't useful so far, but does it and the other one become more useful later on? Do any high level thieves have any comments about this?

It's a hard thing to quantify for me, since I haven't played up any other class to the same level. The one thing I can say is that, when I'm out farming (Level 30+s usually) it's not unusual for me to get through an entire fight without being hit. Then again, it's also not unusual for easy-con mobs to really smack me around.

All in all though, yes, the evasion boosts are noticable and helpful, even if they're rarely discussed on this board.

Against ITs +evasion isn't going to help a whole lot unless you have a ton of it. While I was leveling ninja up even with +16 evasion my shadows were getting eaten up a pretty good pace.

Until 24 when you can equip the Emperor Hairpin your +evasion will only be useful against easy prey. You'll still notice a difference against decent and even matches, but you won't dodge enough to even think about soloing these.

like riski says,
it's pretty hit and miss.
sometimes you'll get through entire fights without getting hit, and other times, a too weak mob will hit you every single time.

it's just not very reliable.

sometimes you'll get through entire fights without getting hit, and other times, a too weak mob will hit you every single time.

That sums it up pretty much. The thing that many people dont understand is that the first two bonuses dont help a lot. Its the third bonus at 50 where you notice the most. I think its quite handy at 50 as many IT++ tend to miss me at least 1 in 5 swings. Standard fight mobs IT or IT+ miss closer to 40% of their swings on me.

Also the more evasion you have makes it very obvious when farming... I can fight all the Jugner Funguars at Spore Hollow at once and all i see is a steady stream of their misses. Of course they are all 2W2BW, but having 12 mobs swinging at you all at the same time and not putting on a scratch is an impressive display of evasion.
