Tonight I finally broke that old codger's hip! Buwahahaha.
Many thanks goes out to Malachite's genkai 5 post, which I followed to a T. Except I only had a daggers skill level of 198, which translated into a whiff fest during our battle.
Maat's Asura's only did about 4 or 500 with my clipper armor and minstril earring equipped, so that wasn't too bad. What annoyed me the most was his hits were always ranging around the 70-80 damage range. That wrinkled pile of bones hits hard!
I ended up running out of potions at 120 hp, then he knocked me for 86 damage bringing me to well below red at 34hp. Then his hip gave out and he gave me the win, w00t!
