Ok i aint sure about this, its probably something that i should have known but...people say Bio and Dia doesnt stack and that Bio>Dia in terms of sticking. I however do not know this and would like to know. Does Dia and Bio stack?

Bio overwrites Dia for all its purposes. The bio atk debuff stops dia's def debuff from taking effect.

Paralyze Slow Gravity Blind
You can have all of the above four, and one of the bio2/dia2/bio/dia family (for a total of 5 debuffs at once).
Blind doesn't overwrite Flash (says no effect). No clue if Flash overwrites Blind.

I always hated it when people did this to me, but I now understand why. Look through the forum I have one titled:
Bio, Rasp, Shock, Frost, Burn ect............

A few days ago i ptd with a SMN whos main job was blm/whm, they said they use bio+dia all the time and that they do stack. I tried to be clear that im talking about the attack down and defence down, and not just the spells both landing on the mob and acting as dots at the same time, they said that yes, both debuff elements do stack and work togeather.
They where a high rank and seemed to know alot about the game =x Are you guys sure they dont stack? The only thing i can think of is the differance at the level the one person was at is so insignificant if dia is really on or not that it doesnt matter, but i would assume if they whernt stacking there would be a noticeable differance?
Who here has acualy, by themselves, meleed down easy mobs with bio and dia testing, and observerd there own damage numbers haveing a change after casting bio over a diad mob?
I suppose i could do this =x I probibly will=P

High level doesn't mean anything. Heck I'm almost lvl 70, and I don't know shit about half the stuff in the game :spin:

Not needed. Go to beadeaux and fight some quadav or davoi and fight some orcs. Watch one cast dia on you, and then if another casts bio, your dia vanishes. Also, if they cast dia on you while you have bio on you, dia won't affect you.

me.
I do a lot of testing just because I need to see conclusive testing results first hand.
Can't be lazy if you are skeptical.

And you find that dia and bio dont stack?
The way spells effect the PC doesnt mean it effects a mob the same way, so just becaus when a mob cast on you it reacts in some way doesnt mean you should assume it always acts that way.
But if the above poster says theyv personaly tested it solo while meleeing things down then its good enough for me ^^

No, they don't. Here is what I did:
case 1: Dia by itself
This is more of a reference case. I cast Dia on monster, see its HP decrease, after sometime Dia drops, I get the "The xxx's effect of Dia has wore off" message. The monster is left with about 1/2 HP.
case 2: Bio by itself
Same idea. I get the "Bio's off" message. Monster has about 1/3 HP. (due to Bio's initial damage)
case 3: Dia, followed by Bio.
The monster's HP decreases at similar rate. I get "Bio's off" message and monster has about 1/3 HP. Monster's HP stops decreasing. I never get the "Dia's off" message.
case 4: Bio, followed by Dia.
HP decrease at similar rate, I get "Bio's off" message only at roughly 1/3 HP. Never got "Dia's off" message.
To me, this shows a good likely hood that Dia is erased when Bio is cast, and while Bio is on Dia is not effective.
Try it yourself. Spells effect PC pretty much the same way they work on monsters.
Also not that spells erase each other based on their elemental property.
Fire > Ice > Wind > Earth > Lightening > Water > Fire
so they erases each other in this order.
Burn > Frost > Choke > Rasp > Shock > Drown > Burn
Bio and Dia are the same deal, except SE did Dark > Light, but never Light > Dark. I am guessing they probably couldn't do the erase loop of 2 due to the way they designed their data structures that expresses erase precedence.

But im wondering about the def down and attack down properties.
It could be that they are stacking and the dot part gets overwrighten, so you never see the damage differance.
This is what needs to happen.
1. get a really low damage weapon
2. find a mob a start meleeing it with no spells cast on it
3. after about 10 hits or so you should have a more or less clear picture.
4. cast dia on that mob.
5. after 10 hits you should see an average increase in damage
6. cast bio on the mob
7. see if the damage has gone back up to pre-dia numbers.
Iv been assured that the debuff properties of these spells stack. Ill test it when im on later.

Check the cons of the mob:
/check
I.T. High Defense
Dia or Dia II depending on your level
I.T.
Bio or Bio II depending on your level
I.T. High Defense
They truly do not seem to stack - you'll need to find a mob that cons high defense but has low enough defense that dia kicks it under though - unlikely if you're a mage. Ask a melee friend to do the checking for you.

It's kinda weird because whenever I use Dia and Bio, they both land. It doesn't say anything about them "wearing off" or anything like that. I haven't really calculated DMG or anything though...I think I'm going to fight a mob with/out any debuffs then fight the same one with both and see if there is any difference. It would make sense if it were to stack. They both have different symbols whenever they are used on you afterall. Or mabey we will have to wait for PvP to come out, so we can find out all of these things.

No, just do what Delph did, it's foolproof hehe. The spells may stack but the effects don't.
