Last night both partys my level were full :( And I started thinking about soloing again.
Ive noticed that I have a much easier time with goblins than most any other mob. They die so fast, what with low hp and def, I can actually kill them with my sword and use my mp to get ready for another.
This is what I have been doing though:
Refresh/Stoneskin/En-/blaze spikes before fight
Pull with Paraylze Slow Gravity macro, follow with dia and blind
I then melee till its low and nuke to finish.
If this was an easy, I can generally rebuff and go get another one. If it was an Even, I probably am in need of healing ;)
Anyone else have a different strategy?

i'd try worms, lots and lots of worms, mostly for the fact that if you need a break you don't have to sleep it, just silence and walk away a bit

Well I generally don't solo for xp anymore because I have a set party that pulls in 3-5k an hour in xp, but when I do solo to farm, I like gobs because of better crystal drops.
Also this has a lot to do with another thread I saw here about maxing out combat skills and such. I like to solo ITs or preferably Ts just to max out my skills. At 30 through 35 I used the sand beatles in altepa to max after each level. I cannot defeat them but they are great for skills. I cast blink/aquaveil/and stoneskin(after 34) and pull one to the Korriloka zone and fight it till my mp is gone and then zone, then I immediately rezone and rest and repeat using the same beatle over and over again. Generally I can max my club, dagger, sword and evasion in around six fights, my shield and parrying usually get quite a bit of skill and my healing and enhancing usually get very close before I get bored also I pull with bio so my dark magic skill gets a workout.
All in all I would say it is a great way to keep up with skills that don't get as good of a workout as they used to when we could tank much better.

Worms are very easy to manage; fairly low risk unless another one pops in which case you have to Silence :( I like how they don't cast magic on you unless you're running away ^^
At 35+ I was soloing giants in Qufim with thf subbed for the gil and drops. Usually around 25xp a pop, and anywhere from 50-200gil each. Also, northern furs were relatively common (though I may have been lucky). At 41 I've been killing goblin smithy's in Yhoator, usually around the entrance to Kazham (thus helping the pt's that might get smacked down by a train). When someone does train them up, I'll simply sleep 'em and take them out in turn, with the zone right behind me. Otherwise, I only solo to farm for my crafting, and have been known to clear out giddeus, ghelsba or palborough for hours. ^^-b
Are there worms anywhere that are worth my time at 41? I also haven't been to altepa (yes, I know I'm sheltered ><) so I don't know what profit might lie there ^^

At 59 I like to solo Yagudo Abbots. The best thing is turning around so that you cannot attack and casting sleep II before you rest, then when it wakes up hit it with sleep1 and enhance yourself. Then attack it again.
I normally don't like to dia, poison, or bio stuff I'm soloing just in case things go wrong and I have to sleep it. Nothing I really care to solo more than other things, as long as its not undead :spin: . The bigger, the better, cause the simplest joy in this game is soloing something 10x bigger than you

Nice tactic Discordian! I'll give it a try. Now I don't have to lock and unlock:)

It gets even better, after you are done enhancig yourlself and your sword is still away you can use Sneak Attackand get a little extra damage in since the mob is turned around asleep or steal a beastcoin.
